*HARRY'S POV FINALLLYYYYYYY*
I had a horrible dream last night, which put off my mood even more. I was so angry. What had I done to Dumbledore? Did he hate me now? I sat at the breakfast table, steaming as Ron went on about being a Prefect. Stupid git.
Then Hero came into the room and I immediately felt a bit better. She looked radiant today, like every day. Serius sent me a smirk from across the table. I tried to ignore him, but I knew he was right. I liked Hero a lot and have since 1st year. Even when I was momentarily blinded by Cho Chang, I still loved Hero; I guess I was subconsciously trying to make her jealous. I could see her frustration towards Ron growing.
"Ron! Shut up about it already!" She snapped. "I don't want to hear anymore!"
"You're just jealous, Hero!" He yelled back at her.
"No, I'm just bloody tired of hearing about it day and night. I'm proud of you and Hermione, and I congratulated you on it, but you don't see Hermione flailing about, rubbing it in everyone's faces!"
"Just shut up Hero. You could have never made Prefect. You're just simply not as good as a Weasley." I knew right then that he had gone too far. I know he thought it was a joke, by the way he was trying to show off his muscles, but Hero's face turned deadly.
I could see the mounting tears forming in her eyes as everyone grew very silent. She slammed her fists on the table, shaking everyone's dishes. Then she stood up and stormed out of the room, and a few seconds later we heard the door slam.
"You are terrible, Ron!" Ginny yelled at him. Ron's face was stricken with guilt as he realized what he had said.
"Too far, mate." Fred and George shook their heads at the same time.
"Poor Hero. Ron, I can't believe you!" Hermione got up from the table and moments later, I heard the front door slam again.
Serius stayed quiet, though I knew he felt bad about what just happened. He looked at me and motioned with his head towards the door. He knew how much I liked Hero and that was like him telling me to go get her. I stood, giving Ron a quick glance before grabbing my trunks and Hedwig as well and running out the front door.
Before I shut the door to the Burrow, I heard Molly start to scream at Ron. Arthur just stayed silent, a sad look on his face.
I could see them a distance away, Hermione already caught up to her, pulling Hero into a hug as she cried on her shoulder.
*HERO'S POV*
I felt someone grab onto my shoulders and I knew it was Hermione. I placed Witty down and dropped my trunks and hugged her back, crying into her shoulder.
"Shhh, Hero, it's alright. Ron is a dumb git. He didn't mean it." She cooed.
"I know. It just hurt." I sighed, tears still spilling from my eyes.
Just then, another pair of footsteps came up to us.
"I'll leave you guys alone for a minute." Hermione said, walking ahead.
"Hero," Harry's voice softened me and he wrapped his strong arms around me.
"Ron is an idiot." Harry said and I laughed into his shoulder.
"I grew up with him. I think I know that." I smiled. He stroked my hair and kissed my forehead, making me blush.
I wiped my eyes, secretly thanking the gods I bought waterproof makeup.
"Come on then," Harry said, his voice a bit peppier. "Let's go catch up to Hermione."
I nodded and grabbed my things before we headed off for her.
We made it to the station and went through the usual platform, not waiting for the others to show up. We boarded the train and found a compartment only taken up by Luna Lovegood. We reluctantly sat next to her, seeing as how there were no more empty compartments.
"Hello Harry. Hero, Hermione." She smiled airily.
"Hello Luna." Harry, Hermione and I said at the same time and sat down.
Luna went back to reading her copy of The Quibbler, which was a magazine that her father edited.
I was sitting next to the window so I mindlessly looked out it. I couldn't see much else than the other end of the station, where new wizards were kissing their parents goodbye, looking scared and confused. I looked away and down, not wanting to watch anymore. I never had that moment with my family. I wasn't allowed to see my mother and father was dead. I sighed. This was one big pity party in my head, and I didn't like it.
Harry must have noticed that I was still down, because he wrapped an arm around me and I snuggled into his chest.
Ron walked in, a sad look on his face. "Hermione, we're supposed to be in the prefect cabin." He muttered, avoiding eye contact with me.
"Oh, yes. I forgot. Alright then." Hermione stands and smiles towards Harry and I. "I'll see you two later."
Ron gives me a look that I know all too well. I sigh. "Ron, can I talk to you?"
"Sure." He gulped. We walked outside the compartment.
"Ron, I know you didn't mean to hurt my feelings. You were just being the git you usually are. I know that. I love you Ron, I can't stay mad at you." I smiled.
He blushed red like a tomato and enveloped me in a hug. "You are my sister, Hero. I love you too and I'm sorry." He smiled.
I smirked and ruffled his hair. "You better catch up to Hermione. She doesn't like to wait." I winked and he blushed again before taking off.
