The door closed behind them as they walked forward. Red Glass saw a small girl, just like her. It had Red, long hair just like hers. It had Red eyes like hers, but those eyes were...
"Mika! Get in, it's cold!" Red Glass heard a voice say. She turned her head and saw a male, Red-haired too, but his was short.
"But I still wanna play!"
"Mika, you'll get sick!"
The small Red-haired girl suddenly grabbed the cloth from her back and covered her head with it.
"I won't get sick now!"
"So you don't want cookies?" the male chuckled, starting to walk away.
"Hey, you didn't say that there will be cookies!"
The male chuckled again and lifted the girl up. "Man, you're so heavy now, sis."
"No I'm not!"
"Silly," the male said. "Now let's go inside and eat the cookies I've made."
Red Glass smiled as she watched them both walk down the wooden path. She looked at Brother. The male and the girl reminded her of something... someone, even. But who?
"Brother, there's someone in the woods!"
Red Glass turned her head towards the child's voice. Brother?
"Oh? Ah, you're right, Mika! Miss, are you alright?" the male asked Red, somehow able to notice her standing behind the tree.
Red Glass stuttered as she talked. "I... I'm alright!" she said, followed with a smile. The male raised his eyebrows.
"Well, I still can't let you in the cold, so why don't you follow me to our place?" he offered, holding her hand and guiding her to a small wooden cottage.
"Brotherrrrrr!!!!!! IS SHE GONNA STAYYYYYY?!?!?!?!?!" the little girl asked, jumping around.
"Maybe not, Mik. But let's just let her be here until she feels better."
"Aww, I wanna see her every day!" the girl pouted, dropping on the floor. Her brother just laughed and patted her head. Red Glass felt this scene was familiar, but she doesn't know why...

(Author's Note: I returned to this draft after about 4 years, so my writing style may change.)
Red Glass - or Red, since Mika, the tiny girl, started calling her that due to her long crimson hair, sat comfortably on the couch. She was wrapped tightly in a blanket, with Brother by her shoulder. She looked to her side, her eyes meeting with the little girl once again. They stared at each other for a little while, then burst out laughing for no reason at all. They have been doing that for a while now, causing Mika's brother - he calls himself Michael - to shake his head in confusion, but with a warm, gentle smile.
"So, Red," he said, attempting to start a conversation with her, "you don't remember your past? Or how you got here?"
She thought about it for a while, then shook her head.
"I... saw a butterfly... Red. It was Red. Like me. My hair." She touched her hair. "And then a field. And. I saw many pretty colors too. I like it."
"Is English not your mother tongue? You seem to be... tripping over words a lot."
"I don't know. My memory of speak is bad."
"That's alright. We understand each other anyways, and if we continue to talk you'll get better."
"Ok. So... I saw Red Butterfly. This one. Name... Brother. I don't know why. But alive thing must have name. So I give."
"How nice of you." Michael stared eagerly into her eyes, curious of this... mysterious lady.
"Saw hallway. Planks. Five doors. With names too, but they are not alive thing, why give them name?"
Michael's eyes widened at this. "Well, people like to label things that aren't alive sometimes. It just makes it easier to organize things and distinguish one object from another."
"I understand, a little bit." Red took a deep breath and continued. "Door I went to. Name was Child. I walk through it. Then I met Mika and Michael."
"Do you remember anything else?" he continued to prod.
Red thought hard. Her face finally lit up after a couple minutes. "Before all things. Saw myself in room. White walls. Glass object... Mirror. Saw myself in mirror. It broke. Hurt my finger, see." She lifted her hand up to show Michael and Mika. There was a light gash across her fingers, though it no longer bled. "And that's how I got my name. Red Glass."
"...Did you see anything else in the room?"
"Yes. Sharp metal object with handle. Did not like. So I left it." She drew its shape in the air.
"Ah!! A knife!! So cool!!" Mika suddenly yelled, her Red eyes sparkling with excitement. Red, however, behaved opposite. She shuddered at the word, "knife". It brought a bad feeling. Michael happened to notice her change in expression.
"Ah, Mika, knife has negative connotations alright? You have to use that word sparingly. Plus, Miss Red doesn't like to hear it. So, be careful with that word, okay?"
Mika pouted, but nodded her head in understanding despite her brother's usage of difficult words.
Michael glanced out the window. "It's rather late, I'll prepare dinner now and then we'll go to bed. I'll tell you both a bedtime story." He turned to Red. "That is, if you don't mind. It may sound a little childish."
"Oh, story? I like story. I... will like to hear story from Michael."
Michael sighed in relief. "That's great to hear. Well, I'll go prepare dinner now, just talk among yourselves until I call you." After saying that, he got up and headed to the kitchen.
