The next day Tyler got up and ready for work. He skipped breakfast and went to his job, taking his place behind the counter. He yawned, sitting down and taking out a book. He read for about fifteen minutes before a customer entered the place. He looked up, seeing it was the same person as yesterday. This was in his interest. He only got a couple small items: chips, pop, candy bar.
He walked up to the counter. Tyler checked out the items, telling him the total. He nodded, giving Tyler the correct change.
"Thank you and come again."
The other just nodded and walked out with his items. As Tyler was putting the money in the register he noticed something else. A small note that was under the dollar bills. The note was addressed to him, and had a number on it. He was confused by this, but put it in his pocket for later.
After work he went home and showered. He threw on some clothes and sat on the couch, holding the note from earlier. He took out his phone, putting in the number and texting it.
"uh...hello?"
"Hi, this is Tyler correct?"
"Yes...who is this?"
"My name is Jack. I was the customer who you saw today and the other day, and you ran into me on the street. I wanted to talk to you, so I gave you my number."
"Okay.. Jack.."
Jack. The name that belonged to Tyler's childhood friend. This..was getting to crazy. Surely this was all just a coincidence.
"I was wondering if you would like to hang out, and get to know each other a bit."
"Sure.. What were you thinking?"
"Well we could chat over some coffee. Or see a movie but that involves less talking."
"Coffee sounds fine.."
"Great, when are you free?"
"Saturday and Sunday all day."
"Give me your address and I will pick you up Saturday at 4."
Tyler sent Jack his address, a bit unsure about it all. Then again, he knew what not to do and would have his phone on him at all times. He wasn't that stupid. The messages stopped there, and he put his phone down. He started up a movie, falling asleep on the couch halfway through it. He woke up in the middle of the night, looking at the time. He got up and went to his bed, laying down. He went back to sleep until the next morning.
