Things in Asgard hasn't been the same since the loss of their Prince and Queen. Odin refused to even speak a word of his beloved wife and youngest son. Thor has even stepped down from taking the Throne of Asgard.
It's been a year since their passing.
Thor has been able to keep his mind off of it all by going down to Midgard and helping the Avengers with missions and attacks.
The team knows of Loki's passing, but Thor has kept his mothers passing to himself. Not wanting to dump all his sorrow onto them.
But whenever he returns to Asgard alone, he can't help but think of how he isn't returning to his mothers kind and warming smile. Or his lovers arms and welcoming smiling and beautiful laugh.
Thor and Odin both grieve in their own way. Both of them haven't spoken to each other ever since that sorrowful day.
Odin doesn't blame his son, no. But the problem is that he doesn't know how to talk to Thor. Even though they both lost the people they both love in the same day.
Odin sits at his Throne, grieving over the loss of his wife and son. "My lord?" A guard asks.
"Hmm?" Odin responds, refusing to look at him.
"Well, I know it is not of my business, but you and Thor haven't spoken to each other in so long." He states. "There's been rumors of you changing your mind of choosing Thor as the next king." He states.
"I have not changed my mind, Thor has changed his mind of being the King of Asgard." Odin states, a bit annoyed at the fact rumors spread like a virus with mortals.
"I was just checking." The guard states and goes back to his business.
Thor walks around the city, looking at all the things that the people of Asgard have to share.
"Thor!" His friends Sif and the Warriors Three: Volstagg, Fandral, and Hogun, come running up to him.
"Good morning." Thor greets them with a nod.
"Thor, we found this great place to go and let out some stress." Sif states as she catches her breathe.
"Yes, its perfect and there is many things there to break." Hogun adds.
Thor smiles kindly and nods. "Thank you, my good friends. But I am fine." He lies and turns to walk away.
"You can't keep it all in you know!" Sif shouts, trying to get his attention again.
"Keep what in?" Thor asks as he stops to turn back to his friends.
"All your anger, sorrow, grief, and all those things." Sif answers. "We know the loss of Loki and then your mother has put a huge weight on your shoulders. And refusing the throne to Asgard, definitly showed you need help." She adds.
He storms right back up to them and glares at Sif. "Keep your voice down." He growls. "And do not mention Loki or my mother ever again." He barks.
"See, anger." Is all Sif states as she walks away, while being followed by the other three, who just gives Thor those sad faces. "Why don't you go see your mortal girlfriend, Jane?" Sif asks before disappearing into the crowd, before Thor could respond to her.
"What does she know?" Thor mumbles to himself as he heads back to the palace. But the thought of seeing Jane again had him wondering if she could help him forget about Loki and his mother. "I guess it wouldnt hurt." He whispers to himself.
Thor decides that is what he needs and heads to the throne room to speak with his father, which he hasnt since the day he declined the thrown.
When Thor reaches the thrown room, he hesitates before entering the room. He slowly creaks open the door and slowly walks in. "Father, i wish to speak with you." He states as he walks up to the thrown.
