((This is my first fic/one shot so some friendly criticism would be nice. I highly recommend listening to the song this is based on while or before reading, which is the attachment. The italic parts will be in Tyler's pov and a bit of 3rd person.))

Josh couldn't believe it. He had been dreaming of going to space since the first day he learned of it. After completing school with almost straight A's and a perfect record he made it his goal to become an astronaut. It had taken him years just to get accepted. At 25 he received the call that in a year he would be going to the moon. Saying he was excited is an understatement, he was hysterical. The first person he decided to tell was a fiance, Tyler. Tyler was Josh's everything, he could live without him but the thought of being without him was dreadful. Josh could remember the conversation vividly.

11 Months Earlier

Josh ran through the apartment he and Tyler shared trying to find him. He had to tell him the great news. Josh busted through the door as Tyler was just getting done cleaning it up. "Tyler, baby guess what happened!" Josh was basically jumping at this point and looked like a puppy about to be taken for it's first walk.

Tyler shook his head at his fiance wondering what had happened now. "What happened?" He had started fixing the bed but was trying to pay attention the best he could. Josh walked over to Tyler and spun him around to face him. "I just got the call" Tyler felt his stomach drop when Josh said that hoping it was anything other than what he was thinking. "A call from who?" Josh giggled "Who do you think? I got the call from the agency! They're sending me on a trip to the Moon!" Tyler couldn't believe it. How could he? He accepted without even asking me, his fiance, if it was okay with me..

Tyler looked up at Josh with a soft smile. "That's great, babe. I'm going to the store so I can make us a special dinner tonight as a celebration." Josh nodded and quickly pecked Tyler on the cheek. "Don't be long Ty!" Tyler started walking out the bedroom door "I won't honey.." What Josh didn't know was about the tears Tyler was shedding as he left.

Present

Josh looked out the window, the moon looking closer than it was before. Headquarters said he should be there within 15 hours and until then he could sleep, they had control over the ship basically making the trip easy for Josh. He looked around at all the lights and little tools around him. Josh laughed a bit seeing a picture of a cat stuck onto the rocket that must have been missed when cleaning it. He soon quieted down remembering some more memories leading up to his trip. He just wondered why things all played out the way they did. What could he have done to fix it. Josh had been up for almost 2 days straight and was now starting to feel the effects. He decided to try to sleep to maybe escape his sad thoughts. The last thing on his mind was Tyler before he passed out.

Josh had just gotten home from being at the space station for about 2 weeks for training. He missed Tyler so much during the time he was gone. Then again he's been missing Tyler for so long now. Ever since he gave the news to Tyler he's been distant and avoiding Josh quite a bit. Josh didn't think much of it but he couldn't stand it anymore. He had to find out what happened between them to put this wall between them.

Josh walked up to the spare bedroom, or Tyler's bedroom now. After two months Tyler moved into the spare bedroom without even a warning. Josh just let him do it figuring he just needed space. Josh hesitantly knocked on the door. He heard shuffling and then a faint "Come in". Josh came in and was greeted with a heart wrenching sight. He saw Tyler in the bed curled up with puffy red eyes. Clothes were strewn around the room and a couple dishes were laying around. Josh instantly felt sorrow. How could he not have noticed his fiance getting worse in mood. Josh shook his head slowly and closed the door. He sat on the bed next to Tyler and looked at him trying to see any sign of why he is like this. After a minute or two he looks Tyler in the eyes and softly asks "What's wrong, honey? You've been so distant since I've told you the news. We don't even sleep in the same room anymore, I barely even see you anymore.. Did I do something to upset you? Please tell me..I'll do anything to fix this!"
