Privet Drive - 29/07/1996

As the sun rose on Privet Drive, Harry Potter was downstairs thinking of the letters. He had decided that the only way to get reliable information was to get it from a book so he decided that he would pay Diagon Alley a visit. Besides, if, like Lucy Smith said, he was of age then he could easily take the Knight Bus. It was a risk if she was incorrect but when he summoned it when his Aunt Marge blew it was unlikely the Knight Bus is classified as underage magic, after all first generations sometimes use it to travel around.

It wasn't long before the Dursley's stomped down the stairs for breakfast. They arrived in the emaculatley clean kitchen to their usual cuisine of eggs, sausage, bacon, waffles, toast and beans. Harry was of course sitting in a corner quickly eating toast. "I'm going out this morning but I'll be back to make lunch," he announced.
" Where are you going? Nobody said you could leave the house, boy!" Shouted Uncle Vernon, "besides that old freak told us that you can't use magic till your 17."
"Listen to me very carefully, I'm going to Diagon Alley, I shall not be back to do lunch. And for your information we turn of age at 16 not 17 so can do magic." Harry threatened. His voice becoming more if a hiss at the end. And with that he turned on his feet and stormed outside. Harry held up his wand and called for the Knight Bus. "Transport for the stranded witch or wizard..." Stan began.
"I need to go to Diagon Alley," Harry cut him off.
"Coming right up young sir." Called Stan, "Diagon Alley Ernie!"

Leaky Cauldron - 29/07/1996

After a quick but thankfully silent ride Harry stepped off the Knight Bus and entered the familiar Leaky Cauldron. Harry pulled his hood up firmly and walked straight out the other side of the pub and into Diagon Alley. Harry stepped into the heavy stream of people and began towards Gringotts.

Gringotts - 29/07/1996

The stone steps were elaborately decorated and the further you went in the higher the ceiling got. Finally at the top of the steps lay a rectangular room filled with goblins. Harry headed over to the desks on the far right. He approached one of the goblins and coughed. "How many I help you?" Drawled the goblin.
"Hello sir, I would like to see what vaults are in my possession and take back any belongings that have been taken whilst I had no control over my vaults." Harry stated clearly. The goblin leaned forward to view him clearly, he nodded for the wizard to follow him. They walked through a set of double doors at the back of the room and into a room on the immediate right. It was lavishly furnished with gold furniture that was covered in the best leathers and silks. An oak desk that took centre piece in the room was large with thick wooden legs that were carved with vines and plants, a theme that followed through to the carving in the chairs. Harry observed the high ceilings that were made of stone. "Take a seat Mr Potter and place a drop of blood on this parchment," said the goblin before giving Harry a piece of parchment and a pin.

Harry sat in a lush, leather lined seat with elaborate gold platting moulded to what seemed to be the shape of vines and plants. Overall, it had a regal appearance. Harry thought it rather befitting. He watched, fascination and amusement barely concealed beneath a calm mask, as the blood soaked into the brown tinged parchment that curled up at the edges. The blood danced upon the parchment and began to form word upon word.

"Sir?" Asked the young goblin assistant. He sat, eyes wide, behind an ancient oak desk studying the young wizard before him. "Take me to your manager," demanded the wizard, slowly raising out his seat. "Right away sir!" Nodded the creature as he stood and strode around his desk leading the way out of the office and through a maze of cold, stone passageways. Right, left, right, left, ahead, right. Harry stalked the passageways memorising every turn. The air seemed to grow colder with every step leading Harry to believe they were travelling further and further underground. Finally the goblin lead the way into a room that was even larger than the previous. Gold chairs lined with leather spread the West wall, a long and thin dark oak table lined the East wall and in the centre sat a large oak desk that was sculpted with an abundance of carvings. A goblin dressed in silks with many gold accessories sat behind the desk. "I was wondering when I'd see you, Mr Gold-Snape." It drawled.
