Shyane burst through the doors of Minnie's home as if it were her own. Minnie followed after her, closing the front door. She could smell the aroma of pizza from the kitchen, making her mouth water.
"Hey Ms. Johnson!" Shyane greeted Minnie's mother, who was in the kitchen, with glee.
"Hey my little chica." She kissed Shyane on her forehead. Her mother was a warm, loving person and treated Shyane as if she was her own child.
"Hi mom." Minnie said with a grin. Her mother, Melissa, brought her into a warm hug, kissing all over her face.
"I missed you today booga." Minnie slightly roles her eyes at the nickname the she had been given when just a little child. Minnie sounded like a nickname to her already.
Shyane grabbed two slices of pizza before hopping up onto the counter.
"How was school today girls?" Melissa asked, looking between the two while chewing her pizza.
Minnie shrugged. "Normal." She replied before grabbing a slice her self.
"So you not gone tell her?" Shyane asked with a smirk. Minnie raised an eyebrow, looking around the kitchen before her soft brown eyes landed back on her.
"Tell her what?" She took another bite.
"Tell her how Aaquil grabbed that ass!" Shyane exclaimed before falling into a laughing fit. Melissa's eyes widened and she gently grabbed Minnie by her shoulders.
"Who is he? Do you like him? Is he cute?" Her mother bum rushed her with questions. Minnie sighed, glaring over at Shyane.
"He's nobody." She said with irritation laced in her voice.
Melissa smacked her lips. She started to poke at Minnie's stomach, a smile creeping on her face.
"C'mon. You know you wanna tell me." Her mom persuaded. A slow smile made it's way onto Minnie's lips and her cheeks heated up.
"His name is Aaquil and yes I like him. I've liked him since the 9th grade." Minnie admitted with a blush.
Melissa gasped before thumping her forehead. Minnie raised an eyebrow, shrugging.
"Ow?" She said sarcastically.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Minnie just shrugged, taking another bite of her slice.
"It's not like he's ever gonna be interested in me." Minnie said, looking at the ground.
Melissa sighed. "Minnie-" she started but Minnie held up a hand to stop her disagreement.
"Please just.....don't." She walked over to the trash can, throwing away her half eaten slice of pizza.
"I'm not hungry anymore." She then speed off to her room. Melissa sighed, leaning against the counter.
"My daughter doesn't think she's beautiful." She said, putting her head in her hands. Shyane sighed also, finishing the last of her pizza.
"Let me take care of this."
Minnie laid on her bed, unlocking her phone to see a text from Swae.
Me and my brother having a party tonight..... You should come..... pretty please with a cherry on top!😊
She giggled at the message, then bit her lip in thought. She had never been to a party, but she would like to experience first hand. She had never really been invited to one.
But she wouldn't know the first thing to do. She didn't know how to dance, didn't smoke, didn't drink so it was really no point of her going to a party. But she wanted to see what it was like. Swallowing her chewy pride and her instinct, she messaged him back.
