(I've changed Minnie's look again 😬 sorry. This is the final one- different body)
It had been three days since Minnie felt the humiliation of a lifetime. She didn't tell anyone about it of course, not even Shyane. She just couldn't deal with the embarrassment. Minnie hadn't even told her about the little meet up she had with him behind the school. The whole situation seemed childish yet so grown up to Minnie.
As she walked through the halls of hell, she felt a feeling of drowsiness take over her. She wasn't ready to face the world. She just wanted to stay in bed and sleep her life away, but she came anyway. The halls were empty, signaling that she was late, but she couldn't bring her self to walk any faster than the zombie-like sluggish pace she had going on. She supposed she could go to her locker first, just to burn a little more time so she wouldn't have to show up to first hour.
Once she turned the corner of the hall where her locker was, she noticed a figure standing at the water fountain. She squinted her eyes, confirming that it was indeed Aaquil. She could see his crazy hair and recognize him from anywhere. Minnie sighed, her shoulders slumping. The universe seemed to have it out for her. She couldn't tell how she felt towards the boy. Of course she liked him, but the way he talked to her a few nights ago repeated in her mind and shattered any type of confidence she had.
Suddenly speeding up her pace, she tried to hurry with getting the combination lock open. That didn't work out so well once she felt his presence right next to her, breathing in her air. Her hands began to sweat and she fiddled with the lock some, having to start over.
"Hey."
Minnie peeked at him from the corner of her eye as he stared down at her.
"Hi." She practically squeaked. She begged whatever Gods that were listening would just put her out of her misery and she would die a quick and painless death.
"I'm sorry about the other night. I was just tipsy." He scratched the nape of his neck and she breathed a sigh of relief because the locker popped open. Minnie didn't do anything at first but nod, taking in his words. It did make sense, she guessed. She couldn't stay mad forever.
"Can you forgive me?" Even though the apology seemed half-hearted she accepted it anyway. Maybe that was just him and maybe he wasn't used to apologizing to people like her.
"I suppose." She could feel a wide smile creeping on her face and she bit her lip to contain it. Grabbing her History and Mathematics book, she shut her locker with a slam. She could see him grinning at her as she finally turned to face him. Minnie couldn't help but wonder about them and she was scared to even ask. They were far from being an item, and she was getting mixed signals from the brown boy. He humiliated and broke her to where she felt like she couldn't deal anymore. Then he said a couple words and her heart felt like it had just been placed in her chest for the first time. Brand new and free from any pain or hurt.
Plus the way he touched and kissed her. Those things made her excited for the future. She just wished he would drop any type of hint that he wanted to progress into something more.
"Do we- do YOU- do you have any plans this weekend?" She chuckled nervously after she stumbled over her words. He laughed. She should have gone with the we.
He looked in thought for a moment before shrugging.
"You know Rocky Miller?" Of course she knew who Rocky Miller was. She was pretty-prettier than her. The two had been in school together since the 5th grade but never exchanged anything except a couple glances.
"Of course."
"Well she was having a party this weekend." Minnie nodded at this information, for some reason feeling awkward. Maybe because she would be doing nothing but think about him while he was out having a good time.
