"WHAT DID YOU EXPECT!" someone shouted, and soon after a loud crash could be heard. Surely it wasn't Josef though, you would recognize his voice anywhere at any given time. "I Need a minute" the same person that just shouted said. you heard footsteps coming towards you from the other side of the door. You fast got up, and pretended that you were heading from your room. You looked over your shoulder, as you heard footsteps pass by you. The blue medic was heading down the corridor, it was hard to tell if it was a good or a bad sign. You rushed back to the door, gently opening it. "can I come in?" You asked gently peeking inside. No one else was there, and you rushed inside gently closing the white door behind you. Not much light was on in the room. A big lamp was on over one of the beds. Josef was probably in that one. Rushing over to the bed, you nearly tripped over a pair of boots. Were they Josef's? Or maybe the other medics? Frankly it didn't matter but it made you think. You stopped by the bed, you didn't know if you wanted to look. You took in sharp breath gathering all of your courage. You looked, tears in your eyes making it hard to see. He looked so peaceful, with the white cover pulled up to his chest, his arms resting on top. You assumed that the bandage around his arms used to be white, instead of this dark red-ish color it now had. His eyes were closed, and his glasses safely placed on a desk next to the bed. The way his Black hair was messy, made it seem out of place. everything else around him was so neat. Even his hands were clean. reaching a hand forward, you grabbed his giving it a squeeze. Sobbing you swallowed hard "It, it will be alright" You managed to say. It was so weird seeing him like this.
You started to tell him about everything that crossed your mind. How horrible public school had been, how everyone said you wouldn't be anything in life, and that no one would ever love you. You told him about your hobbies. You told him about your dreams, what you wanted in life. But most importantly, you told him how much you loved him. How everything about him was just perfect. The way he could make you smile on days where you thought you would never smile again, the way he could make you feel. You even told him about that one dream you had about him. You sighed, and was about to leave. You glanced one last time at him, gently smiling. A tear was running down his cheek, He was crying. He was alive. You gently whipped the tear away from his cheek. You felt a hand grab your arm, and you looked at him. His eyes were slightly open as he looked into yours. You leaned down to press your forehead against his, gently kissing his nose."Josef" You whispered, as you felt his arms wrap around your body. You had so many questions, you wanted all of them answered. But you knew it would be best to wait, he needed rest. "sorry" he whispered, as tears were flowing down his face. He was so weak, it was so weird seeing him like this. He was normally so serious, so stone cold, so strong. His hand stroked over your cheek, making you look him in the eyes. without him saying anything you knew what he was gonna say. "don't worry about it, I don't hate you. I will always love and forgive you" You responded, kissing his forehead before pulling away.
His eyes were filled with tears, but he managed to keep them back. Leaning in to his ear you whispered "I love you Josef". He ran his hand trough your hair, gently nuzzling it. "Ich liebe dich" He whispered back, closing his eyes. You had enough German lessons in school to know that it meant, I love you. You stayed by his side, until he fell asleep.
