Something Hidden.

Chapter 21

Violet's P.O.V

After we came out the shoe store, we went to Burlington Coat Factory. Me and the girls were looking at the same kind of coats, but different colors. We all looked at each other and laughed. Then I heard 'Drag Me down' by One Direction and started to sing along. 

"If I didn't have you, I would see the sun, you taught me how to be someone. All my life, you stood by me, when no one else was ever behind me." then I looked up and notice someone was staring at me. I poked Kylie's and Penelope's shoulder, and pointed secretly towards the person. They looked towards the person and noticed they were looking at us. We hurried up and grabbed our coat sizes and ran towards Zane and Toby. Zane and Toby looked at us weird, then went back looking at the coats. 

" What's wrong?" Zane asked. He picked out a coat and looked back at us.

" Violet saw someone staring at us, they were just standing there looking at us weirdly. " Kylie said.

Toby and Zane looked at each other. They nodded at each other and walked towards the end of the aisle and looked for the person who we saw,but they didn't see them. They walked back towards us and looked really confused. 

" We didn't see anybody, so who are you talking about?" Toby said. I was shocked. I finally come out ofit. I look at Penelope and Kylie, their faces looked the same as mine: confused.  

" We have to talk later at my house. That's was weird, besides we need to talk about what dimension out of the we are going to first." 

They all just nod their heads. We head to the cash register to buy the stuff we have in the carts. We put our stuff up on the table so the cashier could scan the items. After he scanned the items and put them in the bags, I handed him the money. We all grabbed four bags and headed to the car, and end up putting the bags in the trunk. Once we were all settled in, Kylie drove off to my home. We were listening to ' Walk away' by 'Kelly Clarkson' . Me being me, can't resist to sing along. So I end up singing.

" You got your mother and your brother every under cover, telling you what to say.... You need to know the situation is getting old, now the more you talk the less I can take. I'm looking for attention not another question. Should you stay or should you go?"  I started to sing. Everybody started to sing. Then when the song ended we all laughed. I know I have said this before, but these people in this car have became y family. I was in deep thought, while everyone else was talking. Once I heard car doors I got out along with everyone. 

I went up on the front porch and unlocked the door. I turned on the lights in the living room. We walked in the living room, I looked around and something felt off. I couldn't put my finger on it, but something was missing. Zane noticed my uneasiness and pulled me to the side.

" What's wrong Violet?" He asked. His eyes showed with weariness along with his facial expressions. 

" There is something missing, but I can't tell what it is. I really haven't been here since the beginning of school. I wouldn't really know what it is. I'm really hoping it isn't something of my parents." I start to see tears blocking my vision and I feel my body be wrapped in arms of someone, and that someone is Zane. He shh's me and calms me down. I look up at him and he looks down at me and kisses my forehead. I just smile up at him. Before I could think, I kissed him. It was just a peck. I pulled back before he had a chance to kiss me, I ran. I went up to my old room. When I heard a knock on my door. Then the voice of Zane I heard is not the one I want to talk to, but I guess I have to talk to him. I open the door, and let him in my old room.

When he came in, I realized he had tears in his eyes, I went up to him and hugged him. I felt his body shake under the hug, but he hugged back. I slowly walked us over to my old bed, and sat us down. When he was down crying, we just end up cuddling each other. Silence was the only thing we heard, until he spoke up. 

" Why did you kiss me?" He asked. That was one question I was hoping he didn't ask. I don't even know why I kissed him.

" I don't know. I was surprised in myself. I didn't mean to." I said. I felt his body stiffen, I sit up and look at him. He looked up at me with hurt in his eyes. I wonder what I did. I didn't mean to hurt him. Something in his eyes change again. Next thing I feel is his lips on mine. I was shocked but I still kissed him back. He pulled away and looked at me and smiled. 

" Violet I really like you, I have you for a while. There is something about you,  I don't know what it is, but there is." Zane said. I was speechless. He looked at me for an answer, and I couldn't answer him. He got up and left my room. When he got to the door, everybody fell in to my room. I had tears in my eyes. Penelope and Kylie came in and hugged me, and Toby made sure I was alright before he ran off after Zane.

" What happened between you and Zane? He stormed out with tears in his eyes." Kylie said. 

" Why are you crying to? Did you guys have an argument?" Penelope asked. 

I just sat there staring at the door way, because I see something out there. I stand up and grabbed something from under my bed, which was a baseball bat. I may or may not know how to swing real good. I look behind me and put my index finger to ssh the girls. I slowly turn the corner and look carefully, then I see the shadow after it. The shadow down the hall. I start running down the hall to chase the shadow, but I stop when I hear a door close. I go down the steps quietly, and the girls started to slowly follow me. I looked down the small hall that lead to the kitchen, and I realized that the basement door was unlocked. I look at the girls.

" The basement door is NEVER unlocked." I whispered. Both Penelope and Kylie eyes widen. They looked for a weapon to use as protection. I waited until they found something. Penelope had a umbrella and Kylie had a iron metal rod. We went down to the basement. I slowly turned the corner, I didn't see anything. The window was open in the basement. I looked out of the window, but didn't see anything. I looked at the girls and they looked as confused as I did. We just decided to head back up stairs. I think I'm starting to like Zane.
