Chapter 2

Levy's POV
I could feel myself sweating.

I was literally standing a foot away from a devil.

He must be here to kill me! Robin warned me the devils would try this.

I put on a brave face and stared him down.

He was like 6 feet tall and piercing red eyes.

"Gihee!"

"What's so funny?" I demand.

"I didn't know angels were so short!" He says laughing.

I glare at him.

"I'm not short! You're just too tall!" I yell.

The devil continues to laugh at me.

"Sorry Shrimp, it's just too funny!"

My face wrinkles in annoyance, but I can't help but smile. I've never seen a devil laugh.

"Oi! Shrimp! Ya listening?"

I return back to reality and he's a few inches away from my face. My face flushes. No one's ever been that close to my face before.

"Why are all red of a sudden?" He asks confused.

He straightens up and picks me up by the back of my shirt.

"Hey! Put me down!" I say.

I twist around but I can't break out of his grasp.

"What's your name shrimp?"

I turn and look at him.

"Levy."

He nods and carefully places me back down on my feet. He slowly begins to walk away.

"Hey wait a minute!"

He stops and turns his head towards me.

"What shrimp?"

"Your name?"

"Eh?"

"You didn't tell me your name." I say running up to him.

"Gihee! You wanna know my name Shrimp?" He teases.

He ruffles my hair gently.

"Don't call me that! I'm not that short!" I complain.

He laughs again.

"Ok Shrimp. The name's Gajeel. I'll see you around." He says walking away.

I watch him leave. I touch my head where he pet me.

His hand was so warm and gentle.

Everyone always told me avoid devils.

They said they were evil.

They said they had no mercy.

But Gajeel........

He was different.....

Is it possible that we misjudged the devils?

Or is it all a ruse to make us fall into another war?
