Those were just some of the compliments I recieved today from my family, friends & friend of friends. Got thousands of it in Facebook as well but I never read them, they're all the same anyway.
Today is my graduation day and everyone was invited by my parents in the house for the celebration of their only daughter who graduated in college with her course of Bachelor of Science in Nursing course with flying colors as Cum laude in one of the most prestigious school in town, again.
Yes again. Because since grade & highschool topping my class is the only thing I know and I have in mind. I do not boost but my parents does. They expect too much from me that I also work so hard not to fail them. If you think I am a genius with an excellent level of IQ? No. I am a normal brained person who just happen to have a dream and tried hard for my parents.

'Darling, you never fail to make us proud. You never fail our expectations. We love you.'

'I love you too, Mom & Dad.'

'So what are you planning next?'

'I will be filing my requirements for Board examinations next month Mom.'

'Ok. I know you can make it on top again Pie. We believe in you & your school is expecting too much from you.'

If there are things I hate in my life, it's the thing that so much expectations are thrown at me. It's like failing is the end of the world. Being the only good daughter that they alone see and the habit of ranking top in class is not good combination. Why can I just be a normal spoiled rotten daughter who can do everything she wants?

Hah. Enough. Let me focus on passing the Board exam to end this. Anyway, it's my future.

I opened the small box to see a set of gold jewelry. A pair of butterfly earing, a necklace with butterfly pendant & a butterfly ring.

'This is so cool! I love them Mom'
Thank you Dad.'

'Welcome Darling. You deserve more than that baby. Soon we will be having a professional daughter. Time flies so fast, in time you will have job, marry & have kids but you will forever be our baby.'

This is why I love my parents. They were strict & pushy when it comes to school matters but makes sure they provided everything I need even if I don't ask. I love them but their love for me is much more. I have only one bestfriend since grade school, Reem. She was the opposite of me, but we have grown to be like sisters. If I am genuis, she's a dumb. I hate party, she loves to drink & dance. I have zero lovelife, everyday she is inlove. We are totally opposites but mind you she will kill anyone who hurts me. She knows my insecurities, she knows the real me. She knows how much a boring person I am. The only place I hang out is either my house or her house after school. She can do everything & go where she wants. And that is what I envy.

Speaking of Reem, she is calling.

'Pie I'm sorry I left early at your party, you know I had also a mini party with my family.'

'I understand Reem. I'm sorry I haven't come join your family. '

'It's fine. You are having your grand celebration Miss Cumlaude, they need you to be there.' Did you have fun?

' As if you don't know me.. my parents are throwing a celebration for me yearly.'
It's tiring and getting old'.

'I know you as much as you know your parents. Anyway, school is over right? So no more parents celeb. It's our turn to party!'

' Mom won't let me go...'

'OMG Pie, you are already a college graduate, you are not a small girl anymore! You need to see things & meet other people to grow.'

' Talk to my parents Reem..'

' Your awards & medals can not help you in the future Pie. It's not about being on top of class that matters. You need to mingle with other people & experience failure to appreciate life.'

This is why I love my bestfriend, in matters like this, I am the one who is dumb. Because my life only evolve with my parents, books & Reem that I don't recognize other things. Yes, many adore me because I am Pie, the good intelligent girl but inside me I am weak, aloof, with low self esteem, boring & no friends.
I'm nerd.
In fact, I can't even make decisions for myself, it has always been my parents who knows best for me. I can't even remember I had playmates during my toddler & preschool ages. The first time I entered school, Mom enrolled me in piano lesson. After school my life was not the same as the ordinary kids & my classmates, they can play, run, hop, shout until they get tired. Me? Home is where I go & tutorial is my rest.

'Hey, are you still there?'
I am talking to the monkey, but the monkey is not listening to me'.

'Haha. I'm here. Just contemplating on what you said.'

'Because it's true right? C'mon. I'll talk to Auntie Georgia and tell her we'll be having sleepover in my house.'

'Try but I doubt she will agree'.

'Besty, we are already on adolescent stage. And you know what an adult does? Boyfriend! Party! Drinks!'

'When Mom hears you, you're dead. You know, next month is our board exam, we should prepare.'

'I know that, but before that can't we not give ourselves a break.?

'C'mon Pie, just one night. My boyfriend is throwing a party in their house tommorow night. You will not drink if you don't want to, I just want you to witness a party so you have an idea what & how it is. You will meet different faces, atleast make friends. Please? Remember, I am your bestfriend. This is the first time I invite you to a party.'

'Orayt, alright. I will talk to Mom later. But if something happens to me, you're dead.'

'Trust me, you'll be safe. See you tommorow night then."
