August 25th

Just another school year. Another year of being ignored and another year to attempt to get my shit together.

Wish me luck.

She was there again.

Alex sent a quick backwards glance at the back of the classroom and immediately spotted who she was looking for.

The girl who no one seemed to see.

She was dressed in her usual hoodie, hood pulled up over her face. Pieces of brown hair escaped the hood, falling over her face. A pair of emerald green eyes, too bright to be natural - twin gems, caught in a beam of sunlight - that were trained on the binder in front of her. A pencil poked out as well, no doubt balanced on her ear.

English class should be interesting this year. I heard there was something about a senior project in this class, one that focused heavily on writing. Finally, my chance to shine.

If only someone could hear my words. Perhaps they could like the girl who's amazing with words.

Someone cleared their throat, catching the brunette's attention. Alex turned away from
the back of the class to face her teacher, who was looking at her expectantly.

"Well, Miss Peterson? We don't have all day."

She sighed; already the teachers were going to start up this shit? Alex rose to her feet, the soles of her combat boots squeaking against the newly polished linoleum.

"The name's Alexis Peterson. A few things I like include leather jackets, combat boots and beating the shit out of people who annoy me." Smiling serenely, Alex took her seat. Her classmates stared at her in shock, unsure what to think, before looking back to their teacher.

"Thank you, Miss Peterson. Please refrain from the profanity next time. Language is very important in this class."

"English."

"I beg your pardon?" Her teacher glared at her over the wire rims of his glasses.

"That's the language I was speaking." She reached up, undoing her high ponytail. Straight white blond hair fell acoss her shoulders, even lighter in comparison to the dark leather of her biker jacket. Alex pulled her hair back and fixed the ponytail without a glance backwards. The class laughed as their teacher flushed bright red, decidedly didn't comment and continued with his own introduction. Alex was the last student to have to introduce herself.

A light laugh echoed in her ears. It came from the back of the classroom. Alex glanced back and spotted the girl, one hand covering her mouth as she giggled.

"Language, Miss Peterson."

"English."

"I beg your pardon?"

"That's the language I was speaking."

This could be a pretty good line in a book. Too bad I don't get the chance to write snarky characters much; this is perfect on so many levels.

The rest of the lesson went by. Alex didn't deem it necessary to pay much attention. Instead, once the bell rang, she was up and out of her seat faster than any other student in the class.

English class just finished up. The "Language" girl bolted before I could get a chance to talk to her.

Seems like this is just another year of being ignored after all. Shame on me for getting my hopes up, for thinking this girl might be different.

She made her way to her locker, stashing the English textbook that was completely unnecessary for today's class and retriving the one about Chemistry.

"So the delinquent's actually going to attend her classes today?" Another girl with blond hair, so blond it almost seemed white,

"Leave me alone, Alice." Alex spat, shooting a glare at the other girl. She gazed back, hazel eyes cool as ever.

"But why would I do that? It removes all the fun." Alice twirled a strand of hair around her right index finger, eyes holding Alex's own evenly. "It's not like I have any other chances to do this-"

"Just shut up." She closed her locker and stormed down the hall.

Her twin sister's laughter echoed through the hall in her wake.

Lunchtime.

Where can I sit where no one will see me and no one can poke fun at the girl who doesn't have anyone to sit with?

Alex took her usual spot by a tree at the corner of the courtyard. As always, no one dared to go near her, and that was just fine by her. The less people she had to put up with, the better.

She didn't notice the girl up the tree until she was halfway done with her sandwich.

"Are we allowed to sit up in trees?" Alex called up to her, a grin on her face. "I'd hate for you to get in trouble."

Someone's talking to me. Someone is actually talking to me.

She looked down at Alex with a mixture of astonishment and fear, staying silent for a moment before finally speaking.

"No one can see me. How does someone invisible get in trouble?"

A/N

So. Another chapter. Another chapter for no one to read, and no one to comment on. XD

See you (nonexistent people) later!
