You met george by the black lake one evening.
Its was your mums birthday today,she would of been 39 todat if she hadnt of died 3 years ago in a car crash.Your mum was in her way to work and you had started your first year at hogwarts when a truck full of oil crashed into her.she died instantly and if not then in the explosion.
You always went to the black lake to cry and to think but today someone called george ,who you knew was the prankster with his brother fred, came and sat next to you.
"hey Y/N why are you crying?"he asked softly
"I-I um dont want to talk about it"you wispered
"that bad huh"he chuckled"well such a pretty face shouldnt be stained by horrible tears"he wiped them away
"its my mums birthday today"
"oh then why are you crying are you homesi-" he started
"no she's dead " You said bluntly
"oh well sorry for your loss do you want anything from the kitchens? ice cream ,toast I can even get some pumpkin pie? I can get some for you sneak in quickly then we can go to the common room if you want? he rambled on
"ice cream sounds nice and let go to the common room" you smiled and wiped away your tears and followed him to kitchen's and for the rest of the night you and George joked and messed around eating ice cream and fell asleep on the sofas in front of the fireplace .
from then on George has been your best friend and you are grateful for that
