Well here I am again, just laying here wuth a fire. I cant sleep because it was my job to protet her and I just let her run off into the woods with what a puppy to watch her. God her dad is going to kill me when they come back...if they come back. I don't like the feeling of this at all. Her parents gone, my parents gone. Her window boarded up but mine wasn't. It just doesn't all add up. You would think that whoever is going to kidnap two teenagers parents, board up the ones window, and steal the other's car, you would think there would be more to go off from with that. I'm just not understanding where any of this had to happen. Plus I mean did they have an early heads up about the zombie outbreak I mean that's something really serious to keep from your kids.

I grab one of the Eagles and cock it back just to be ready because something seems odd. I hear running and leaves crushing. I pull a knife out of one sheath and hold it under my forearm. I look all around me hoping that I'll see someone, or something that's not going to try to tear the flesh from my bones and use it for a Chaz and cheese sandwhich. God how can I even think of food at a time like this. I hear barking in the distance behind me, I turn around and Fang is pulling on my pantleg. I turn around has he starts barking, I put the knife back in its sheath but I keep a tight grip on the Eagle. Fang starts sprinting in the direction that him and Alesan went, I run fast behind him. We get to where there is a spread in the leaves and sticks. Fang runs over to a fallen branch and starts barking at the sign of blood and rags.

Oh shit I did exactly what I wasnt supposed to do. I'm so dead, when all of a sudden I hear the leaves crunch behind me. I turn with the Eagle pointed right in the approacher's face. They were quick to stop, and smart enough to know that I was armed. Quickly he tries to knock the Eagle out of my hand but my grip was tight, and I ended up pulling the trigger attempting to wound the attacker. Note to the person attacking me, don't run up to me when its dark in all black wearing a mask. I miss the attacker's head by a good 2 inches. I swear under my breathe knowing that it probably would have attracted the attention of a zombie. Finally the attacker tries to run and escape from me. Luckily I placed traps throughout the woods while Alesan was asleep, the attacker trips and falls due to a pile of ropes under leaves. The attacker quickly tries to stand up untangling himself but unable to before I have him pinned to the ground.

I stand above the attacker with a knife to his throat, sliding my Eagle back into it's holster. I pull off the mask of the attacker as I realize who it was that was attacking me. I look into those glossed over blue eyes, and just pull the knife away. It was Zane an old classmate of mine that I had been really good friends with back in school, it was in like I don't even know I think it was 7th grade. I stand up, as I reach my hand out to Zane to help him up. If I would've known that you were the one trying to kill me this whole time I would've just saved the effore and cut your foot off ya bastard I remark in a joking tone. He just looked at me seeing how we had both grown since he moved in 7th grade and not being able to keep any contact. I looked at him with as serious of a face he had ever seen me with, and asked him if he had seen Alesan. I described her right down to the shirt she was wearing. I was responsible for the girl that I had become childhood friends with since the first day we really talked.

Zane just looked at me and asked me why I needed to know where Alesan was. I explained that her dad had wanted me to look after her when this all happened. Zane told me about how the reactor at the plant went crazy and overflowed causing radiowaves to spread far enough to break windows and even char the end of calenders. I asked him why they would kidnap our parents though, and that's when Zane told me that his parents had left for a late night meeting and told him that they wouldn't be back for a couple of days. Then I remembered that my parents had told me about a week ago that they would be going out of town for a meeting and that Alesan's parents were going with them. They were all going to ride together so that it wasn't a really costly trip on gas. I was so angry that they knew this was all going to happen. I pulled the knife from the sheath on my arm and flung it at a nearby tree having it stuck about four inches deep. I can't believe that they did this to all of us.

That's when Zane told me he heard Alesan scream about 20 minutes before Fang went running back. He said that he saw Fang running and that he had to investigate where the dog was going. Neither of us expected it to be one another. I told him that I had to find Alesan no matter what the risks were. I walk over and pull the knife from the tree without any struggle. I repeated myself this time with more force in my voice I have to find her! I never thought that I would have lost her especially since she knew how worried I was. Good thing Fang was a smart enough dog to come back and let me know. I can't believe I doubted him for a second. I lean over after I saw Fang flinching from me yelling in anger about losing Alesan, and I just pet him letting him know that he was a good dog and that eventually we would be able to get through all of this. The three of us walk back to the camp Zane and Fang not having barely a care in the world, while I walk with the grief and distress of losing Alesan. I mutter to myself that I hope she's going to be okay.
