I woke up it was an early Saturday morning, or at least I thought it was Saturday. Last time I checked it was saturday. I look around the room thinking it shouldnt be so dark. I normally sleep straight through the night I have no idea what woke me up. I walk over to the wall and shine my phone at the calender and see that its charred all over the edges. What in all of Hell happened last night was all I could think to myslef. I stumble over to where the window is covered by an also charred curtain draped almost to the floor. I move the curtain as if nothing was wrong when I realized that everything was wrong at this moment. All I can see down the whole road of the neighborhood is overturned cars, burnt trees, and broken windows in every house including mine. I look out towards our driveway and I see that the sun is a very weird shade of a bloodred and orange. All I can think now is that I need to get Alesan and get out of here.

I get dressed faster than I would on any normal occurance, but I'm more confused than ever at the moment. I grab my knife from under my pillow, and run down the stairs finding the key to dad's cabinet and grab the bow. I see that the front door is open and notice that the car isn't in the driveway. Just great I think mom and dad left me while this goes on. I can so feel the love. I run out the door and quickly around the first corner with the bow ready in case of anything. For the past 4 years of my life all Alesan and I have talked about was the zombie apocalypse and how we're going to find a way out of it together. I hear a loud moaning noise as I cross the road going to Alesan's, then suddenly a loud shrieking noise. I run as fast as I can kicking in the door of her house, and scream her name.

"Alesan are you alright?" No response returned I bolt up the stairs as I feel something grab my ankle and I slip. "Ouch what the Hell!" I turn my head and see a rotting face about to enjoy my foot. I pull the knife out of its sheath on my left arm and kick with my free foot. I struggle to reach down and stab the flesh rotten scum in the face. Finally I hear Alesan responding with a quiet whine and I grab an arrow out of my holster. I reach for my bow as I feel something licking my hand in distress. I look up as I feel my bow, its Fang Alesan's German Sheapard puppy. I grab the bow and swing around shooting the zombie in the face. I hear Alesan speak up behind me, 20 points. I laugh as I unhinge the zombies hand from my ankle.

I manage to stand up and limp up the rest of the stairs. I reassure her that I'm fine. I managed to get the zombie off right before he got to the meal. I ask Alesan if she knows what's going on at all. She said that she woke up in the dark which wasnt very normal for her, and that there were boards over her window. She said that she pulled the boards away seeing broken glass and thinking what in the hell. I told her that I woke up almost the same way, except nobody cared enough to board up my window. I look at her cuz all of a sudden it came out of the blue. The nuclear reactor half a mile from our city must've blew. Causing an outbreak and what we had been waiting for all these years. I start racing toward the stairs and kind of half running, and half jumping down them I managed to make it to the first floor. Alesan is close behind me. I ask her if she knew where her dad kept the key to the closet. She said yea it's in their room. She runs and grabs the key from her parents room, as Fang and I wait I keep a close watch for anymore coming towards us.

Alesan came back with the key panicking. I ask her what's wrong in as calm of a tone as I could speak in after my foot was almost zombie breakfast. She said that when she was in the other room that she could hear scraping on the neighbors house. I take the key from her and am hurrying to open the door. She asks me what is so important about the closet. I told her that as soon as the door opens she'll understand, no less than 5 seconds later I get the key to open the door and she realized that her dad informed me about the gun safe. She asked me how I knew about the safe. I tell her about the long conversation her dad and I had a few years ago. Your dad wanted me to keep you safe no matter what the circumstances are. I don't think that our parents ditched us I think that they were taken when we were sleeping. She started crying and bent down hugging Fang.

I look at her and tell her everything will be fine. I walk into the large closet realizing he wasn;t joking when he personally told me to keep his little girl safe. I tell her to follow me very closely and to shut the door and lock it behind her. We slowly walk down the stairs as I hear a loud moan from above us. Great timing for us to get in here don't ya think. We get all the way down the stairs and I turn on the light. I look at Alesan and tell her to get what she can for every holster that she can fit on her body. Good thing that dad was an ex military officer if it wasn't for that and his will to kick anyone's ass who would invade his home, threaten his wellbeing, or threaten the life of his loved ones there is no way in Hell he would be following this second amendment act right now even if he's not here. I quickly walk over to the wall on the right side knowing exactly which weapon to grab and where the ammo and holsters are for each gun. I grab the two Desert Eagles off the table and grab to extra clips holstering them to my boots. I grab the AK-47 and set it next to the stairs. I stop as I hear a banging noise on the door up the stairs. I tell Alesan to hurry and to try and be as quiet as she can. I walk over to the middle wall. Gotta love the fact that dad had a crazy intention to have swords, good thing that swords dont run out of ammo and the best way to kill a zombie is dismember the head. I put on the cross holster for my back holding to very sharp katana swords. Good thing I knew this was coming and so did he. I walk over to Alesan, and ask her if she has everything that she needs. I notice that she had more on her than a terrorist with C4. I look at her and hug her carefully. Everything on safety? Check. Twins? Check. Short range? Check. I notice that we had everything we need except the long range which I know that we both were good with, but I grabbed the MSR and tell her that nothing will get her as I hand it to her. I grab my AK from the bottom of the stairs as I hear breaking wood. I turn to Alesan and tell her to go to the back wall with Fang. I grab a grenade off the table since I had all I could carry. I tell her to shoot 4 inches from the top of the door with the MSR knowing that it would weaken the support.

She does as she is told, and hits spot on target. We hear a loud shriek as the door breaks all together. I throw the grenade up the stairs, it hits the ground right at the feet of the zombie. Just as I jump out of the way the grenade explodes, and the shriek is loud for a quick second and then it's over like it never happened. I look up the stairs to see what damage was done. I move quickly hout of the way as a decaying foot falls down the stairs. I look at my phone and realize that we had been down in this gun safe for almost an hour. It's 11:43 in the morning and we have already been attacked twice. What an eventful saturday morning haha. Damn this is going to be a long time. Hopefully we're not the only ones left in this place.
