I laughed and went into my house. I quietly go up the stairs, and surprisingly, everyone's all asleep. I would've thought Maddie would still be up, eating all of her candy. I go into my room and turn on the light. I undressed myself, and put on my pajama's. I washed off all my make up, then sat in front of my dresser, pulling out the Halloween article from the other day. Did I really want to know who my future lover was? The procedure did sound kinda.. creepy. I looked at the top, which were what things we'd need. I went downstairs as quiet as possible and gathered them up. Then I returned to my spot and read the very first step. "On Halloween night, grab hold of an orange and its leaves and place them on your dresser before you go to sleep. Ensure there is a mirror above your dresser." I took the orange that I'd retrieved from the refrigerator and placed it on my dresser, my breathing slow and calm. I glance up and saw my reflection in the mirror. Check. I read the second step: "Have a knife handy so you can peel the orange." Carefully, I took out the knife I got and placed it next to the orange. I went back to the paper for the third step. "Now, go to sleep. But before you do, say a prayer to any deceased loved one." Then the fourth: "When the clock strikes midnight, turn on the light located near your dresser table." I slipped into bed, and shut off my light. I clasped my hands together and said my prayer..

My tiny alarm beeped me awake and I sleepily got up, and switched on my light, just like the step said. I scattered around and read the fifth step.. "Now peel the orange with the knife." As I'm doing this, I'm hearing noise oustide. I looked out my window and see nothing. Must be the wind. After I'm done, I read the next step. "When done, quietly leave your home along with the peeled orange, walk straight to the nearest street crossing then stop. Cut the orange in two. Make sure you DO NOT look back when walking out of your home and that you are as quiet as possible!" I held my breath. After hesitating, I slipped the paper into my pocket, grabbed my coat and orange and quickly went downstairs and out into the dark night. As I'm walking to the nearest street crossing, I tell myself: Dont look back. Dont look back. Dont look back. When I get there, I cut the orange in half and took out the paper, reading the next step: "Now leave the other half of the orange at the crossing. Take back the other half and go back home. Again, do not look back or make any noises when walking back to your home. If you do, it is believed that the spell will be broken." I bent down and left the other half of my orange there. Then, I turned around and began walking back home. But this time, I ended up walking faster, afraid that someone will be followig me. I try my best to not look back.. As I'm walking up the stairs, I read the next step: "When you get back home, proceed to your dresser. Kiss the orange leaves, while looking into the mirror and VOILA! There should be an image of your future mate. Eat your half of the orange and by doing that, the image should stay until you have finished eating it." I entered my room and both of my hands were shaking.. Should I do it? I went through all these steps, I might as well. I sat down in front of my dresser and kissed the orange leaves, no moatter how weird it was. I looked into my mirror and held my breath. At first I saw nothing.. and then.. OMG. My heart starts to beat faster and my breathing quickens. This is unreal. My eyes widened as an image starting appearing. I took my half of the orange and began eating it slowly. The image in my mirror became clearer.. I looked at it.. and it looked back at me. There he is. My future husband. He had brown eyes and spiky, black hair. He was cute, thank god. Then.. I recognized his face.. it was.. so... familiar..
