Sam's eyes slowly flutter open, revealing how red and puffy they are. I keep my hands firmly in place as she sniffles and wipes her watery eyes, "Look we're not going to judge you, you did what you had to do in order to save them." The sounds of my bands footsteps were heard coming to a stop behind me. Sam looked up at them for a second before putting her attention on me and replying, "Was killing them really saving them?"
I sigh not knowing how to reply, "It's not your fault, none of that was your fault. You hear me?"

She nods her head, "Good." With that I remove my hands from her face and hold out my hand. Sam latches it and I help her stand up the boys sighing in relief asking her, "Are you okay now?" A light smile appears on her face, "Yeah I'm okay." Without thinking I draw her into a hug, at first she stands there whether from the shock or contact I don't know, but slowly her arms raise and wrap themselves around my waist tightening, her hands gripping my shirt as she becomes more comfortable, "Aaawww." The boys giggle at their immaturity, I seriously hate this band. Sam laughs in my chest as the boys fake hurt, "Thanks Luke love you too bro." Abashed I question, "Did I say that out loud?"
"Yep."

Sam pulls out of my arms, bending down to pick up her crossbow then patted Luke and kissed his head before looking at us, "Let's go." We follow her out of the scrub and back to the Hummer where we hopped into our designated spots (Sam in the drivers seat, Calum in the passenger, Michael, Ashton and I in the back, Luke in front of my feet). Sam starts the car and drives off Ashton putting everything she told us in one last sentence, "Sam...you've lost a lot, we understand that, but is staying here killing these zombies off really worth it?"

*Sam's POV*

"It is." He let out a sigh predicting this to be my answer, "Why don't you just come to the island with us?"
"Because this is where I belong, this is what I'm good at." Before he could ask another question Luke cut him off, "So what happens when we get to the dock?"
"Fuck....we've sorta been over this. You get on the jet skis, get to the island and meet up with your families while me and Luke go back to killing deadheads pretending none of this happened." Calum interrupts Ashton's upcoming remark in disbelief, "You expect us to fucking forget everything that we've just been through?"
"You can do that or you can move on, choice is yours boys." Michael being smart for once stood up for me, "It's her choice lads, just leave it." I was grateful for his input, it put a halt on the whole conversation and the boys resulted in eating to cut the awkwardness Michael had left.

4 hours later, Luke and the boys are dead asleep knocking off after they finished eating exhausted from the day's events. Driving through the night I see countless deadheads staggering along the road making me want to jump out and slaughter them until they were nothing but rotten chunks. I had to resist though, we need all the time we can get and me stopping to take out my anger isn't a plausible excuse (once again). The headlights bounce off burnt cars, some with bodies still strapped in others covered in bloody hand-prints made by both the corpses and people as they either tried to escape or get in.

Shaking my head I kept on driving using the night as an advantage to get to the next town so we can restock on weapons and amo. Dog Luke stirs in his sleep twisting his body trying to get comfortable, using Luke's outstretched legs as a blanket by sneaking under them. I smile at the sight it's been a while since he warmed up to people and for some reason he fucking loves Luke and Calum the most.

The scenery never changed, the road still littered with crashed cars, dismantled bodies and lots of dried black blood smeared everywhere sometimes mixed with old red blood. Deadheads that stopped in-front of the Hummer created a bump when I ran over them causing me to bounce in my seat and smile in joy. Being alone for so long can do some things to you, this was one of those. As well as talking to your dog which comes in at a close second....don't ask.

It sounds crazy, but having Luke with me keeps me somewhat sane....the boys too. Ever since I found them they've been keeping me on my toes and my mind off of what happened 7 months ago. It may not seem like it, but I really do like these boys. Each of them is different yet they make it work, something you don't see anymore. A large bump broke me from my thoughts, a thick cloud of smoke rose from the engine, "Oh shit."
