This chapter is dedicated to my advisor on this story tanmaychoudhary for letting me (or no not exactly) calling him a lovely name.

Anaysha

The prom was only a week away. Ansh's dancing skills... They weren't much there. He didn't like dancing. So I had to be a little strict while teaching him.
"Yeah.. Left foot back, right foot to the right... Yeah easy.... Easy..."
We had been practicing how to dance in the homeroom. There weren't many people there, and those present themselves were practicing their dance moves. Nanki and Nikhil were also with us, but they were having some weird questionnaire. These two kids are precious.
Srijana and Alen were in the library, their favorite place. Issuing new books. Actually buying two.
Nanki had made a comment on how the janitor's room's incident is gonna repeat. And of course, Nikhil couldn't help himself to not go deep in the subject.

"ANOUNCEMENT!"
Our head boy yelled for our attention. And soon, all the twelfth students started pouring in the room. We four were earlier talking on how would it have been, if the students were supposed to go only with their pair partners. Ah, our head boy, Vrushank had his good mate as his partner, Vrishir. Wouldn't it have been a great scene to see them waltz at the ball? Epic. YouTube breaking video.
Nanki still hadn't told any of us her partner. And I couldn't even figure if she even had got one. So great at hiding emotions.
Our dance teacher, which had just joined for this ball, got on top of the raised platform.
"So youngsters? My name, which you all must be knowing, is Martin, Martin Collins. Y'all girls can call me Marty."
He winked at the girl majority, making some hitch. No doubt, he was a good looking guy.
"Dickhead."
Nikhil muttered, not even showing any disgust or any of the sort on his face. He is as well good with his expressions.
"Easy boy. Don't attack him."
Nanki nudged the guy, who chuckled.
I still don't understand how are they not together.
Some people still say that how Rajdeep and Nanki aren't together.
Well, rumors fly don't they?

"Well, so partners? Go grab you girl and as the music starts, DANCE!"
Martin clapped his hand and the guys went to get their girls. Ah, so it wasn't that Mr. Anand was going on prom with Vrishir, he was going with Niharika. Tanmay was gonna waltz with another good friend of mine, Vrushti.
I turned to look at Nanki, and I couldn't hold in my grin. Of course, it was Mr. Italian who asked her.
Everyone had their partners with them.
"And one, and two, and three!"
The teacher clapped, and some instrumental music started to fill the air. While dancing, my eyes connected with Tanmay, who couldn't hide his smirk. Vrushti, even Vrushti...
I saw Rajdeep wasn't there. His partner was a guy named Aashman. Now, he can't dance with a guy can he?
Aashman was dancing with a girl... I don't know her name. I recognized maximum of the students and their partners. The girls were extra on makeup. I dont understand why so much of that stuff...
After about half an hour, we were free to go.
We six were sitting around a table talking about the following days. Tanmay joined us, saying:
"Guys, fresh news!"
He said while rubbing his hands. This kid is something, really.
"So see, I overheard some teachers talking about some scholarship that a trio of students are gonna share, yeah? So, they didn't seem so.. You know, excited or so, teacherly excited about it you know? Man I can't find the word...."
We chuckled at his whining, as he knocked his head to try and get the word.
"Oh whatever! So the point is, why are they behaving that way?"
"You're proposing that the reaction is suspicious or a sign?"
Srijana asked. Man... When she said that, Nanki opened her eyes wide, suddenly giving her whole attention to the subject.
And suddenly Srijana broke out laughing, which eventually caused us to start giggling.
"Dude, it could be."
Nikhil said nodding his head in agreement.
"But it could just be a rumor even, don't you think?"
I said, soon realizing that I was wrong.
"Anaysha.... I heard it. And I know that I heard it right."
Tanmay air quoted the italics.
Uh... I should've heard right... The topic did stay in our minds, but we chose to overlook it. We were now talking about the daily drama we see at school, he asked her out, she asked him out, that teacher got roasted, that teacher roasted this kid, et cetera.
Just the usual.
Now we had decided that after this prom coming up, we'll decide our plans for the careers. We had them in mind already, but after what Tanmay told us, I guess, we just might have to reconsider the ways through which we'll reach them.
