Vanessa’s P.O.V
(Three Weeks Later)
Right now I was walking through the airport in New Mexico to the conveyer belt in order to retrieve my luggage. We had literally just landed not even a minute ago and the weather was already affecting me. The weather was absolutely boiling and I was ever so grateful that I had come from Rome so I was wearing something appropriate for this heat. I was wearing a white tank top, light faded jean shorts, a pair of white vans and a new pair of aviator sunglasses which I picked up in Rome. I couldn’t see my luggage just yet which trust me, was hard to miss amongst everybody else’s here as it was all the Louis Viutton Pegase 55 collection in Sepia. Sighing I sat down on one of the available chairs and started to reminisce about my time in Rome.
Rome was and is an absolutely beautiful city. Everything about it always spiked my interest during my time there even if it was from the irresistible taste of the gelato, or the historic facts behind almost everything that you could see and came into contact with. Whilst I was there we all went to the Colosseum. It was so much fun because we got a private tour and we were actually allowed to see a fight that would resemble how they would duel back in that era and time period. Another thing that interested me was the stories of gory battles between gladiators, slaves, prisoners and wild animals that emerged from the Flavian amphitheatre, which I found out dates all the way back from AD 72. It was a vast arena of entertainment for Romans back then, with a seating capacity to hold over 50,000 people.
As my family and I are also Catholics we decided to visit the Vatican on the Wednesday so we could hear the Pope say Mass. The weather was fine when we attended so He held the Mass in St Peter's Square; otherwise it would have taken place in the Sala Nervi audience hall. Afterwards, we took the opportunity to wander through St Peter's Basilica, and admire Michelangelo's stunning frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. We also managed to visit the famous 'Belvedere Apollo' and 'Laocoön' at the Museo Pio-Clementino which is among the Vatican Museums. Not to mention that we –
“Hello! Earth to Vanessa!” Xavier said with a raised voice as he was waving his hands in front of my face. “Do you read me?” He said once again as I swatted his hands away from my face.
“What do you want?” I said looking at him confused as to the reason he wanted my attention right now. He was wearing beige coloured chino shorts, a red V-neck t-shirt, and red vans.
“You’ve been sitting there like a Zombie for the past few minutes staring off into the distance, and I, being the caring big brother I am, just wanted to see if you were still alive.” He explained.
“Well firstly,” I said holding up a finger. “I don’t think Zombies exist, and 2,” I empahised by holding up a second finger. “It’s nice to know that you actually do care about your baby sister.” I said whilst reaching up to pinch his cheeks. As you could have probably guessed he swatted my hands away from his face.
“Oh please,” He stared. “I just wanted to be the one that had the pleasure of knocking you out whilst everyone escaped.”
“You know for a bloke you really know how to spoil a moment.” I said walking past him because I could see my luggage coming up on the conveyer belt. He followed behind me and helped me get off my suitcases.
“Like you wouldn’t want to be the one to knock me out if that situation ever occurred.” He said looking at me and raising an eye brow.
“Touché.” I responded. While we were waiting for his suitcases to appear, like mine they would be easy to spot as he had the male version of the Louis Viutton suitcases I had. I turned to him and asked.
