No one's POV
"In other news, local authorities remain perplexed by the animal attacks plaguing Beacon Hills." The radio says.
Kate hits something while driving. "Nice driving, Kate. Nice. No! No! No! Come on! Come on!"
"Mom?" A girl from the back seat says, she's probably about 16.
"Just a problem with the car Lanie. Go back to sleep." Kate says.
The young girl falls back asleep.
Kate gets out her gun, knowing exactly what she hit.
She shoots a couple times at the thing running. It gets shot and goes down, hiding behind something.
"Get in." A man says pulling ip in a SUV.
"Not even "hello," "nice to see you"?" Kate says sarcastically.
"All I've got at the moment is "please put the assault rifle away before someone notices." Chris says.
"That's the brother I love. Chris, there were two of 'em." Kate says. She puts hers and Melanie's stuff in Chris' car. Chris carries a sleeping Melanie to the backseat of the car.
"The Alpha?" Chris asks getting back in the car.
"I don't know, but one of them tried to kill me - could have hurt Melanie." Kate says
"One of them is gonna lead us to the other. He can't do that if he's dead." Chris says.
"Well, I can't help kill either of them if one of them kills me first." Kate says.
"How long will it take?" Chris asks her.
"Give him 48 hours - If that." Kate says.
Melanie's POV
I wake up in a bed, with my best friend/cousin sitting next to me.
"Ally!" I cheer and give her a big hug.
"Melly!" She says hugging me back. "How are you?!" She asks.
"Tired but good. How have you been?, it's been like a year since I last saw you." I ask her.
"I've been good. Kate already got you enrolled in school and your starting today. I'll drive you." She says.
"Okay!" I say then get out of bed and over to one my suitcases.
"I don't see you for a year, and you turn into a fricken runway model?" I hear my mom say. I look up and see her, in the doorway.
"Oh - " Ally starts when my mom hugs her.
"Look at you! Oh! Hate you." Mom says.
"I haven't even showered yet." Allison says.
"Sweetheart, you're a knockout." I say smirking.
"In fact, I hope you have the boys knocking each other's teeth out for your attention." Mom says.
"I kind of have one." Allison says.
"You kind of have one? Well, you should kind of have a million." Mom says to her when we walk to moms room.
"Need some help unpacking?" She asks mom, about to open one of moms bags.
"No, not that one." Mom says grabbing her wrist, tightly. "Oh. See? You turn out beautiful, and I end up with this kung fu death grip. Sorry, sweetie. I didn't mean to be so rough." She says, letting go of Allison's wrist.
"No worries. Hey, is everything okay with your car?" Allison asks.
"Uh, yeah. I just needed a jumpstart, that's all." Mom says from inside her closet.
