Life is well, how do I put it, crazy! Ever since we got Chizuru and Lalia back, it is as if the men have became doting old women on the pair. My theory on this was only proven when I seen Saito, the man suppose to be made of stone, laugh with Chizuru . I repeat, he laughed. Not some half hearted one either, one that made tears well in his ducts. They have also became very overly protective over Chizuru especially through the last while. Nakagura and Heiskue almost got into a fist fight over who could bring Chizuru her breakfast in the morning, Okita snatching it from them to skip down to Chizurus room, singing her name along the way. They even had the nerve to say I, their vice commander and her husband wasn't doing enough to help her. Pfft! If only they knew the lack of sleep I've had as I lay with her, every single night, rubbing her back as she tries to sleep, becoming uncomfortable and restless which only means one thing- a very, very angry Chizuru. Although I'm this man that strikes the fear into many, nothing scares me more than Chizuru does at the moment.
"TOSHIZO! WHERE ARE YOU?!" I gulp hard, yup, that's my Chizuru. I reluctantly set down Lalia who looked at me with eyes of understanding my misery as she knows her mother is quite temperamental at the moment although never to Lalia, with Lalia she's always a ray of sunshine with happiness emitting from her. I envy my daughter so much. My feet drag me there eventually, knowing the dread in the pit of my stomach at having to visit my lovely wife. I slide open the door to be greeted by Chizuru lying back on the bed with her arms sprawled wide open as if in a sign of defeat. She looks at me and exasperates heavily. "Why do you look so terrified, dear husband?" She questions knowing all too well the fear she strikes in me when she's like this, unpredictable. I brush off her remark before advancing to her and asking,"Chizuru, what on earth are you trying to achieve?" She shoots right up and points to the pair of shoes on the ground before flopping down on the bed again, waving her metaphorical white flag. I chuckle, reaching down and taking the delicate blush, almost blossom coloured slip on shoes and slide them gently onto her feet as she laughs on the bed. "I'm sorry, do you find something humorous?" I question in a serious tone with a raised brow. "No, it's just, did you ever think that when you were a Vice Commander you'd be putting shoes on people's feet?" Chizuru continues laughing while I flop on the bed with her, laughing also at the statement she just made. "I guess not, but you're an acceptation," I reply before pecking her cheek with a light kiss as I see a smile stretch across her before glum face. "Well, Miss Dango, time t-" Chizuru looked at me as I spurted out my nickname for her. "Miss Dango? Really, you're comparing me to that? I'm strangely not offended," she chuckles as I pull her up, steadying her as with a gust of wind, she would literally fall over, just like last night. Chizuru and Harada were out by the blossoms when whoosh, a huge breeze knocked Chizuru into Harada which, lucky for her, is like a huge supportive wall that was able to catch her instead of sending her to the grass invested with blossom petals. Chizuru also fell into a terrified Saito when Heiskue was chasing a Nakagura who had stole Heiskues duck, don't ask, I don't know where he got the duck from either. It was Okita Souiji telling me this that he seen the pair in their high speed chase, not even touch Chizuru and yet she almost went flying although it was Saito Hajimes quick reflexes that aided her and grabbed her shoulders just in time although, through Okitas laughter, apparently his facial expression was one of great distraught.
I walk with this waddling duck through the compound to retrieve Lalia until we see her being threw into the air back and forth by Harada and Shinpachi. "You drop her and so help you God," Chizuru shouts over whilst she waves at Lalia, Shinpachi clutching Lalia tightly to his exposed muscled chest exclaiming loudly,"What, us? Oh how could you think such a thing? She's so darn cute, as if we'd drop her, we can barley take our eyes off her!" He then proceeds in displaying this by once again swinging her in the air much to Chizurus dismay. "Toshizo, she gets one scratch and I'm killing them, okay?" I smile, protective Mama Bear as usual. "Deal," I shake her hand as we both nod then erupt into laughter.
There is never a dull moment at the Shinsengumi Headquarters.
