Before I Die

        It seemed like a decade in Midnight's point of view. She was beginning to lose hope of living. The doctor let her go for a few days to have some fresh air and learn in school. She was so happy. It was the first time she had smiled in a while. She went back to school and continued to learn. Some people noticed that she didn't be in school for a month and most didn't so her lunches would be questions filled with where she was and she didn't want to tell them.

         One day, a new student was introduced to class and the girl that she was a decimeter away in the hospital was actually the new student. Midnight was shocked and the the girl's eyes seemed to be glaring at Midnight. Her name was Carolina and she was really pretty. Blonde hair and blue eyes. She knew her deepest secret and Midnight did. They were meant to be friends. At lunch, Carolina came up to Midnight and started said hello to Midnight. She had lunch with her and they were talking for a long time. Midnight finally smiled again. She felt like she was not an outsider anymore even if she had one friend. She was a quarter to a dollar. She was unique.

        After school, Midnight invited Carolina to her house and they spent the whole day playing in the backyard. They told each other their stories of their life. Midnight had the time of her life. They did homework together, studied together, and played together. It was the best day of her life and she forgot about her disease. But, she soon passed out and the ambulance came again. Carolina came to the hospital with her and waited for the good news. Midnight came out of the office crying. She only had a couple of months to live approximately. She was so sad, but Carolina tried to make her think of happy things like unicorns. Hope would save her.

        Everyday, Carolina would spend time with Midnight in case of any accident. They were linked like sisters. Midnight didn't need any friends, only Carolina was her best friend. They were like duplicates. No one would ever separate them apart. Midnight and Carolina would visit Carolina's brother and would pray for a good life. Midnight's life was fulfilled with Carolina standing beside her (Guardian Angel) and giving her hope.
