People around the globe think that Muslims OR Islam does not encourage Education. Really? Nah...!
Not only non-muslims, even muslims do not make their children [especially girls] to seek education. What does Prophet Mohammed OR Islam teach us about Education Or Knowledge?
Hey! Here is a fact thing. What do you guys think How the captives of the war used? As slaves? No! They are teachers!!! Yes. These Arabs used to seek the knowledge from those captives. Sounds good, isn't? :)
Let's begin...
The mosque of Medina was not only a place of worship. The believers assembled here to learn!
When the Holy Prophet was present, they used to hear his words of wisdom, his elucidation on the verses of the Holy Qur'an and benefited from his counsel. And when he (The Prophet) was not present, other faithful companions taught what they had heard from the Prophet of Allah.
Once, When the Prophet entered the Mosque before the prayer time, He found two groups in the Mosque. One group, was busy with its own act of worship, some were reading the Qur'an while the others were supplicating. The other group, was in a corner busy learning. They learnt how to read and write and discussed the teachings of Islam and their application to their daily lives.
Looking at both, the Prophet said, "They are both engaged in useful pursuits. But I am a teacher. I shall join the group assembled to learn."
And so he (The Prophet) sat with the group of students . :)
Below are something useful quotes,
1. "O my Lord! Increase me in knowledge." (Quran 20:114)
2. It is an obligation for every Muslim to seek knowledge.
3. To acquire knowledge is binding upon all Muslims, whether male or female. [Got it? Male Or even female! Just don't separate]
4. Anyone who pursues a course in search of knowledge, God will ease his way to paradise.
5. Acquire knowledge, it enables its possessor to distinguish right from wrong; it lights the way to heaven.
