Megstial: "I learned that from the pizza man."

Castiel's POV

The days dragged on like this. Arguments with Dean, moving from place to place in order to keep safe... Cas wasn't sure ho much longer he could go on like this.
But no matter what, he couldn't abandon Meg. Nothing, not pain, not angels, not demons, not even Dean, would stop him from protecting Meg.
He sighed, now layin on a motel bed, Meg outside somewhere. Why did everything have to be so difficult? He just wanted to live a calm life. Was that too much to ask for? Why did all the shit have to happen to them?

Another attempt to soothe Dean's worries didn't go so well;

"We don't work with demons, Cas!" Dean said, his usual argument. Cas sigjed, shakin his head.
"You've worked with plenty, Dean. In fact, you still haven't killed Crowley." Castiel replied, arms crossed.
"And when has woring with demons ever turned into something good?" Dean replied. "It's always gotten us stuck in problem, after problem."
"Meg isn't just some demon! She's never tried to make deals with you! She's helped you many, many times of her own free will!" Castiel retorted, voice rising.
"Damnit, Cas!" Dean began again.
"Dean. I can't let you control who I love. It's non of your concern. If she betrays me, all well. At least I had enough free will to follow my heart." Castiel said, gone in a flap of his wings.

He thought back to the argument, it had sounded suspiciously like a break up. Wierd, he'd never considered Dean and himself as 'dating.'
He looked up as Meg entered, smiling a small smile when she saw him.
"Meg, welcome back." Cas said, painting on a smile as he pulled himself to sit up. Meg sat on the edge of the bed.
"How's it going with Dean?" She asked.
"Not good..But, I've decided to give up on him. We should just focus on keeping safe." Cas replied, watching as Meg crawled up to lay next to him. She smiled, placing a gentle kiss on his cheek.
"Alright."
