Without a warning, he started sauntering to my direction, making my breathing shallower with every step he takes.

"Are you suggesting sleeping together?" He purred, making the insides of my stomach feel funny.

I opened my mouth for a witty reply but no sound came out.

"Well, if you think about it", he continued, "you made yourself my wife, and this is our honeymoon. There should be no problem with that."

The reminder of me being a wife, his wife, helped me recover from being flustered by him. I took a step back, took a deep breath, and looked him in the eye, trying to ignore the way he's looking back at me.

"About that. I'm planning to file an annulment."

The smirk that was plastered on his mouth faded and he blinked away the fire from his eyes. His usual shuttered expression came back as he straightened up to his full height.

"And when do you plan to do that?" He asked in a deceptively low calm voice.

Mimicking his actions, I also tried to keep my face expressionless and straightened to my full height--which is about a foot shorter than his.

"As soon as this 'honeymoon' is over, of course. "

"So eager, aren't we?" He remarked, a small cold smile creeping up his lips. "But did you honestly believe I would let you out of this mess you've dove into so easily?"

Glaring at him, I gave a stiff nod.

He let out a short humorless laugh.

"Wow, Alexis, you're far more stupid than I thought", he said. "Perhaps you've forgotten just what you did yesterday and the implications of your actions. If that's the case then allow me to refresh your mind".

Then, just like a few moments ago, he started sauntering towards me. But unlike then, the fire in his eyes are of a completely different kind.

"Yesterday, on my wedding day, you announced in front of hundreds of people that you are pregnant with my child, giving my bride, my original bride, an opportunity to run away. As you know, I tried to get her back, but of course, you didn't let me.

"However, since I needed to get married immediately, you agreed to become my wife. Now you have to understand that just because you became a sort of like my substitute bride, it doesn't mean that the wedding was any less binding. It is binding. You are my wife. We both swore in front of God and hundreds of witnesses. Witnesses who will watch us even after the wedding because, let's admit it, it was one hell of a controversial wedding.

"With circumstances the way it is, do you have any idea of the uproar, the scandal it would bring if you filed an annulment right after the honeymoon while you are supposedly pregnant with my child?"

Before I knew it, my back hit the wall. He stopped and stood just in front of me, staring down at me.

"Because I do", he continued. "And I will not allow that to happen."

As the realization that he's right and I've no way out of this stupid mess dawned on me, a mix of frustration, panic, and anger came surging at me, causing me to feel nauseous, my breathing shallower, and my whole body to shake as I fought to keep my tears from falling.

"You're one stupid arrogant selfish bastard!" I spat, my voice rising with every word. "This is all your fault. Yours! So don't you go saying that it's my fault cause it's your fault! Now we're in this mess because you care about petty material things more than anything else!"
