The Captain's Secret

Revelation

Jack looked closely at his name. He recognized the Master's handwriting and shook hard. "Jack?" Nat and Ianto looked at him. "What?" he said, his voice trembling.  "Who would have done this?" Ianto asked. "I know exactly who" Jack spun around and jumped into the SUV. Nat and Ianto joined him as he sped towards the hub. "Jack!" Nat said. "What's going on?" Jack ran into the hub and called a team meeting. He looked at them: Nat, Gwen, Owen, Rose, Tina, Ianto, Tosh, and the Doctor. "My past is catching up to me" he said. "What do you mean, Jack?" Rose asked, scared. "When I was young, I was mentored by a dark time lord" Jack began. "My and Nat's parents were very abusive, and would beat her badly. The Master promised to teach me to protect her" "The Master?!" The Doctor gasped. "And I believed him. He kept his promise. I learned most of my fighting skills from him. The training was brutal. He hurt me a lot to make me tougher. I grew fearless and strong under him, and was able to protect my sister. But the Master was using me. He wanted to harness Nat's powers for himself. He and my parents started the time war. The Doctor was sent to kill us, but instead, he rescued us and raised us as his own" Jack looked at the Doctor, who nodded. "When I was 18, I was called to fight in the time war. The Master tried to turn me and make me kill the Doctor, but I refused. After that, the Master swore vengeance on everyone I love" Jack stopped talking and looked at them. Their faces were blank with shock. Rose held his daughter, Rowena, close. "Let me get this straight, Jack" the Doctor said. "You were trained in fighting by the Master, who was actually using you to get to Nat. When you refused to kill me, the Master swore to kill everyone you love. Is that right?" Jack nodded. "He was the one who killed those people. He wanted to scare me. I will have to fight him to the death soon, to protect everyone I love" He looked at them all. "I'm fighting to protect all of you" They all hug Jack one by one. Jack hugged them  back. He kissed Rose and Rowena when he got to them. "I wont let anyone hurt you" he promised. "That's so sweet" a voice behind them said. Jack spun around. Standing just inside the entrance of the hub, voice dark with menace, was the Master.
