A month has past since the last time Brooke and Mark have gone out to eat. That month was full of calls from her father. He would express to her about how it was his last second. He told her often that he was having his favorite food because he was afraid it would be his last meal. Brooke grew tired of these calls and she often ignored most of them.
It was the weekend (Sunday) and Brooke was in the mood to hangout with her best friends. They had finally settled into the new condo. She got out of bed and walked into the kitchen for breakfast. Lucky Charms or Captain Crunch. She chose to eat Captain Crunch. 'Sorry, maybe another day, Lucky Charms,' she said to herself.
Emy, Ambria, and Micky finally emerged from their rooms. "Hey, guys!" Brooke shouted at the top of her lounges. Ambria glared at Brooke. Brooke couldn't help but laugh. Micky only covered her ears and asked, "Who wants some breakfast? I make some mean grits."
Brooke tilted her head back and sighed in frustration. Micky looked at her," If you don't want it, you don't have to eat it."
"No. I'm just mad because I already ate some breakfast," Brooke admitted. Micky struggled as if saying 'What are 'ya gonna do?' Brooke just pouted and turned her attention to Emy. She looked confused as always.
"What ya thinking about Emy?" Brooke asked.
"I don't even know why, but I really just want to know if Spanish people think in Spanish. Like, if they knew how to speak English," she said creating lines of confusion on her forehead.
'Why did I even ask?' Brooke thought. Emy was the dumb one of the group. She wasn't the brightest crayon in the box.
"Maybe you should ask a Spanish person," Micky said.
Brooke's phone rang and she looked to see the caller ID. It was her father. She moved her finger to the ignore button, and the phone instantly stopped ringing. "Who was that," Ambria asked sitting next to Brooke.
"It was just my father. He's been calling lately," Brooke said.
"Oh. Is he still in that 'I'm gonna die' phase?" Ambria asked Brooke.
"Yeah, he's still pretty paranoid, but I feel a bit on edge. I mean, I know his time will come soon, but I can never be sure because he calls so much," Brooke expressed herself.
"Yeah, well. I know you will love him regardless," Micky said finishing making the plates for Emy and Ambria.
"Yeah, let's not talk about this anymore. I want to have a happy day without worrying about him," Brooke suggested. Her friends nodded their heads. Brooke had told Mark about the problem before. He said to just go on with life and just play along. Brooke tried that for a while, but it didn't work. She soon grew crazy and tired of it. Now she ignores all of his calls all together.
Brooke spent the rest of the day with her friends. She got a few phone calls from her father here and there, but for the most part, she enjoyed herself.

The next day she woke up an got ready for work. She didn't feel like working today, but she had no choice. Before she knew it, she was out the door and calling a cab.

Brooke walked into the office at 9 o'clock sharp. She saw Steve Feth talking to some male employee. She didn't recognize him, so she thought he must have come from another unit. The guy didn't look that bad. He wasn't male model hot, but he was definitely cute.
