Chapter 21- The Fox and the Wolf.

*Flashback to the Birth of the Nogitsune-1943*

In 1943 two soldiers are offloading the bodies of dead Americans into a field at night. Merrick is riddling Hayes. "There's an answer, I swear. Come on, just try. What gets broken without being held?"The soldier Merrick asks Hayes as they bring another body to the pile. "I don't care."Hayes replies. "A promise. Get it?"Merrick says as they place the body on top of the others. Hayes looks at him," No, I don't. It's stupid. It's not funny. None of this is funny."Hayes says gesturing to all the dead bodies as they head back to grab another. "What has teeth but doesn't bite?"Merrick asks after they place the last body on the pile. "Will you shut up already?"Hayes says. "Come on. This one's good. What has teeth but doesn't bite? "He says and when Hayes doesn't answers he tells him, "A comb."Merrick says. "These jokes are stupid."Hayes says as they walk back to the truck to retrieve two gas cans. "They're not jokes, idiot. They're riddles. My girl back home loves them. What has a neck, but no head?"Merrick asks. "Your mother."Hayes replies as they reach the truck, behind them, a bandaged figure stands up from the pile of bodies. Its mouth is a bloody gash with shiny silver teeth. "A bottle."Merrick says ignoring his comment about his mom as he grabs the two gas cans. It begins advancing on them. Hayes fires a handgun into the creature several times but it never slows. "What the hell."Hayes says. As the bandaged man reaches the gun wielding man, the figure twists the weapon in his hand and fires several shots into the soldier's guts. Merrick drops the gas cans and runs to the drive's side of the truck. The creature then rounds the truck to Merrick who is attempting to reach the safety of the cab. It grabs him by the ears and shouts "What has a neck but no head?" It then rips the soldier's head from his neck.

*End of flashback.*

~Beacon hills high school; Mr. Yukimura classroom.

Mr. Yukimura is preparing his blackboard in the history classroom. He notices a fly buzzing around, and when it lands on his desk, he crushes it with a text book. "Coming in on a Saturday. That's dedication." Nogitsune Stiles says causing Mr. Yukimura to look at him. "Where's she hiding them?"Nogitsune Stiles asks. "I'm sorry; I don't know what you're talking about."Mr. Yukimura says. "Her little knives. Daggers."Nogitsune Stiles says as he walks more into the classroom. "I know what they are. Physical representation of her tails. However the hell that works."He says looking at Mr. Yukimura. "Maybe you'd like to do some reading on it. I can direct you to the section on Japanese myth in the library."Mr. Yukimura replies. Nogitsune Stiles smirks, "No. No, I'd like to talk to you. The older the tail, the stronger the oni. Am I right?"He says more then asks. "I know there's one left. I know it's the strongest."Nogitsune Stiles says as he walks up to Mr. Yukimura's desk, meaning the one she has left will summon the strongest of the demon warriors. "Unfortunately, I don't know what you're referring to."Mr. Yukimura says still acting stupid. "You'll talk. They always talk."Nogitsune Stiles says. He then lifts the textbook; the fly is alive and flies directly into Mr. Yukimura's mouth. He begins to cough and choke.

*Sadie's pov*

I ran into the classroom to see Nogitsune Stiles standing in front of Mr. Yukimura's desk, who was choking. "What the hell did you do?"I asked walking further into the room. Mr. Yukimura looked shocked while Nogitsune Stiles just smirked. "Took you long enough to get here sweet cheeks, are your power's acting up or something?"Nogitsune Stiles asked. He went to leave but I stood in his way, "You have to make a choice Sadie-baby, try and follow me or help Mr. Yukimura here."He said and I glanced at Mr. Yukimura to see his face going red. I clenched my jaw and I looked back up at Nogitsune Stiles, "I've found you before, I can do it again."I said and I moved out of his way. He smirked, "I'm counting on it. Oh! You look SO good today; I can see why Stiles loves you so much."He whispered, flashed me a wink and he left. I quickly ran and slid down next to Mr. Yukimura who was on the floor, He handed me his phone and I saw it was on his wife's name. I clicked call and I started to use my powers on Mr. Yukimura.
