You can't be fucking serious. They obviously don't have anything else on me or I would already be in handcuffs. I rubbed the back of my neck and tilted my head to the side. "You caught me." I said, trying not to smirk. "What?!" the Captain looked surprised. "I said, you caught me. I try to keep my sex life as private as possible and when I saw the news the day his body was found.. I felt it would be best to keep our little fling a secret. After all, I didn't know if he had a wife or anything. But it's obvious I'm going to have to be honest about it now". "Go on..." the man stared at me.
"I met him one day as I was going into work and he was leaving the pizzeria. Actually, we ran into each other. He seemed stressed but being strangers I didn't ask him if anything was wrong. He seemed to desperately want to talk to me. At the time, I thought that maybe he just really needed a friend but now I realize he must have wanted to ask me about his girlfriend..." I trailed off. "So, how did you go from this random meeting to... you know" the Captain cleared his throat. "Well, he was asking me about my car. Then he started asking me what my work schedule was. I told him that I worked that night but after I got off we could go somewhere and talk. Like I said he seemed troubled but at that time I had no idea what was going on. Anyway, we met up and we had a few drinks and one thing led to another. I fell asleep after and when I woke up he was gone and I didn't see him again after that. I assumed he'd used me but when I saw the news..." I hung my head.
"I don't believe you" the man said in a low voice. I snapped my head up to look at him. "To be honest we don't have anything else to tie you to this other than your DNA. But after his body was examined it was determined that his last sexual encounter was consensual. However, I believe you killed him. I can't prove it yet. But, I will. And I bet you have something to do with his girlfriend's disappearance as well. Don't worry, I'll find the evidence I need to but your ass on death row" he stated in a monotone voice. "Don't make accusations you know are false" I glared at him. "I can see right through your bullshit, Vincent. I've been doing this for a very long time" he stopped the recording and stood up, walking to the door and opening it. "Like I said, we have nothing to indicate you murdered him. But you are still linked to this and are a suspect. As such, you will be under surveillance 24/7. And I know it's only a matter of time before you slip up. I'll be seeing you real soon, Vincent".
"Go fuck yourself. You get off on harassing people, old man? Oh, I know! You're jealous. You probably want to be pounded... is that it?" I laughed as I walked by him and out the door. "Oh and if any of your officers set foot on my property... well..." I smiled as I walked into the waiting area. I flipped the receptionist off as I walked out the doors. What the fuck. I got into my car and sat there for a second in silence. "FFFUUUUUCCCCCKKKKK!!!!!!" I screamed. I backed out of the parking lot and started to drive... somewhere.. anywhere. It was almost 6:30pm when I found myself parked outside of Mike's house.
This is fucked. I've got to plan every single move. No mistakes. I stared at Mike's front door for a second and then glanced in the rear-view mirror. The fucker wasn't bluffing. I already have a car following me. I sighed and got out of my car, waving at the piece of shit that is watching me. I put my hands in my pocket after I knocked on Mike's door. "Why the fuck are you here?" Mike growled at me as he stood in his doorway. "We need to talk" I said in a low, raspy voice. "Then talk" Mike snapped. "Well, if you insist. So you remember that girl that died because of you?" I raised my voice slightly. Mike frowned and grabbed my arm, quickly pulling me inside and shutting his door.
