Chapter 16

Me and Mary Jane stood where the other girls who wanted to join the tennis club stood. Hindi kami kinakabahan pero naaawa kami sa mga ibang nakikitryout. Shei and her friend, Hannah, are being cruel. Isa lang ang rule nila, ang ibalik ang bola. Pero paano maibabalik yung bola kung sinasadya nilang patamaan ang mga katawan nung mga girls? I admit that they're good though.

"They are so mean" sabi ni Mary Jane na nakafold ang mga kamay niya.

"Yes they are" sabi ko, mirroring her expression.

"I'll teach them a lesson"

"That's my plan"

Nagsmirk ako and I looked at her, she's smiling devilishly, like parang may binabalak siyang masama? It's my first time to see her like that.

"Who is that?" tanong ko, pointing at the guy na nasa likod ni Hannah.

"that's Arko Lee, Shei's..I'm not sure"

"boyfriend" bulong nung girl sa likod namin.

"ahhh" sabi naming dalawa.

Kanina pa kasi nanonood si Arko sa mga naglalaro. He is kind of cute though. Typical popular student, nakasuot siya ng university jacket, mmm, I am guessing na he is a basketball player, or maybe the captain of the team? Nagulat ako saglit nung napatingin siya sa amin, or sa akin? Not sure.

"he's cute no?" tanong nung girl.

"he is" sabay naming sagot ni Mary Jane, kasi he is naman talaga, no need to deny it. But my Bryce and Jason are more handsome... and cute... and cool.. and awesome, you name it. haha

Sa aming lima na nasa corner, kami lang ni Mary Jane ang nakauniform padin, tinanggal lang namin ang mga blazers namin. The rest are wearing shirt, shorts, and snickers.

Wala kasi kaming extra shirt ni Mary Jane and makakagalaw parin naman kami kahit ganoon ang mga suot namin.

"Next!" Sigaw ni Hannah at tumakbong umiiyak yung girl na kakatapos lang magtryout tapos tumawa si Shei na nasa court padin, waiting for her next victim.

"Shall I go first?" Tanong ko.

"Nah, leave her to me, the other girl is yours" sabi niya and she stepped forward pero hinarang siya ni Hannah.

"Ba't nakauniform ka?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.

Itinaas ni Mary Jane yung rocket niya at ipintong sa balikat niya.

"You said wear something comfortable, I am comfortable with my uniform, I hope you don't mind" she said cooly and tinignan siya ng up and down ni Hannah.

"Suit yourself little girl" sabi ni Hannah and tumalikod siya at sinenyasan si Shei.

"Watch and learn" sabi ni Mary Jane sakin and I rolled my eyes.

Hannah blew her whistle at nagserve si Shei, aiming Mary Jane's body. But Mary Jane is so flexible..and cool!! She turned to her side na parang sumayaw lang siya and she hit the ball--uh oh-- she aimed for Shei's body.

"Ouch!!" Sigaw ni Shei habang hinahawakan yung noo niya.

"Oops!" Sigaw ni Mary Jane tapos tumingin siya sakin and she tilted her head to the side na parang sinasabi niya "this is so easy"

"Your serve!" Sabi ni Hannah na parang iritang irita at ibinato kay Mary Jane yung bola ng napakalakas but she caught it with one hand, napanganga pa si Hannah.

"Thanks" sabi ni Mary Jane na parang nang iinis pa.

Hannah blew her whistle and Mary Jane threw the ball up in the air and she positioned her rocket and pretending to aim at Shei's right kaya naman pumunta agad siya sa right niya with a very vigilant and serious look. With a one swift move, Mary Jane hit the ball and it went to Shei's left instead at bago pa narealize ni Shei ang nangyayari, the ball passed her and everyone became silent.
