A ray of sunlight had been peeking through the gap in the curtains until it reached my face.  I gently rubbed my knuckles into my deep blue eyes to make myself fully awake. The hallway was elucidated with beaming midmorning sunlight, almost blinding my still-tired eyes.

Today is the start of my work, I mean my assignment. This whole case is driving me crazy and I have no clue why. I mean this isn’t obviously my first assignment but there’s something in it that makes me worry about.

The first thing that I always think of everyday is how am I gonna be close to Morgan, considering that I don’t directly work for him. I assume he’s very cunning to the fact that he can fool the Miller family, he can play the cards really well. What I can only do is to be more cunning.  Gaining his trust will be hard to accomplish, it needs a lot of work I must say. The second thing I worry about is how am I gonna interact with other people, especially my boss. I need to keep my identity accurately, they can’t discover who I really am. Or else, I’m dead.

Shit, I need to get ready.

Hastening into the bathroom, I stripped of my clothing while running the water hot before stepping inside and letting the droplets haze me over. After I finished, I wrapped a towel around my body and sprinted across my room to my closet. I slipped on a floral peplum dress along with my favorite turquoise necklace and paired it with minty pumps. Pulling out my kit as I spread everything, scrambling through them as I applied a shade of shadow on my lids before covering my face with light foundation to hide some flaws, while layering my lashes with thick mascara. Then came the shining of my lips with lip gloss and putting some sweet pink rouge on my cheeks, I was done.

I sat at the dining table, chewing on a piece of rye toast smothered with peanut butter. I glanced at the clock, it’s 6:30 am. I still have time, I thought. The scent of caramel macchiato encumbered my whole apartment, it smells so good. Taking one last sip, I grabbed my coat. I was about to leave the apartment when my phone vibrated.

I received a text message. “Open the suitcase under your bed. Get your car keys.” I read. They provided me a car? What a good way to start your day. It’s not really my top necessity but hell, I would love to have one. Without hesitation, I quickly went back to my bedroom. Gently kneeling on the floor, I strived to sight the suitcase. I reached out for the handle and pulled it out. I opened the suitcase and found out that there were other things inside it besides the car keys, things I least expected to see. Pausing for a moment, I asked myself if what I’m seeing is real.

“Holy shit.” I muttered. I felt myself freeze in shock. There were pairs of handcuffs on the side and a loaded gun sealed on a compartment. I gently ran my hands on the trigger, trying not to pull it. This is the first time they let me carry or use a gun. Do I really need it for this mission? Is this mission so dangerous that they need to provide me a gun? No one knows.

I grabbed the car keys and put the gun back on it’s original position. After that, I left the apartment and went down to the car park located at the basement.

“Name please?” The lady asked.

 “Blair Collins.” I replied.

She checked the computer then looked and smiled vibrantly at me. “Your car is parked at Section 5CE.”

“Thank you.” I responded. I quickly swerved to the aisle and went to Section 5C. “5CA, B, C, D…. There you are.” I whispered, sniggering as I saw the car. It was a red BMW convertible car. I rapidly jumped inside to see the interior. The leather car seats were a mix of black and cappuccino.
