Dark shades

V- I hate this

I open my eyes and shock to see many familiar faces and unfamiliar faces, I tried to sit up and Nathan run to help me.

"Are you ok?" He asked and I nodded, I look at mom and she's crying.

"Mom" I smiled and hug her, I look at dad but he remain standing near the doorstep just like he usually does. I stared at him but he only gave me a smile.

"Don't you want to hug me dad?" I asked and all heads turn to look at him.

"It's fine" dad said and he left the room, I look at my hands and look up to saw Kate smiling widely.

"You little Cat! I'm so damn worried!" She exclaims and punched my shoulder but she hugged me instantly and I chuckled.

"Sorry pussy Kat" I said and Dominick stand behind her with a warm smile "where's the bag?" I asked and the three men eyed me suspiciously

"Don't worry we hid it" Kate whispered and pulled back from our hugged, mom followed dad.

"What's wrong with you and your dad?" Asked Nathan and I look at him "ah- it's ok, you don't need to answer"

"I don't know" I answered and look at him " but I didn't expected him hugging me even in my worst scenario" all of them eyes me and I look down.

"Are you hungry?" Asked Kate and I nodded "we'll get you foods" and Kate pulled Dominick out of the room, I smiled to myself. I know what's her true objective, to get out of the room. She doesn't want an awkward moment and talking about my dad becuase she felt uncomfortable seeing me so down.

"Wait here ok?, I'm just going to the toilet" said Nathan and left the room. Is this a coincidence to left me with these three men or is it plan? I look at the man who really look captivating and I see the answer in his eyes. It was plan. He's above 6 ft tall and his jaw line is strong and he is wearing a black tuxedo.

"So Catherine I believe you have something I own?" Asked the man " it's Todd" he said and I nodded.

"I'm afraid not" I said and his eyebrows furrow "do you expect me to protect it and risk my life just for that? I bet those men took it already" I said and he aim a gun at my temple, I instantly felt the cold metal and look at him in the eyes and I smiled innocently.

"And your name doesn't start with letter N followed by A" I point out sarcasricly and look at the man in his left "who are you?"

"This is Bruce I'm Nathaniel" said the Nathaniel about the same height of Todd but his a few inch taller and his eyes are hazel.

The door suddenly open and there stood Jeff (Jefferson). My smile grew bigger as he approach me and I smelled the smell of my favorite chicken curry.

"I saw Kate at the lobby and asked me to give you this" he said and drop the food on the table. The three men sat at the long couch and waited patiently for another private talk.

"Oh?" I gasped and stared at the strawberry short cake "come on Jeff you bought this or Kate?" I asked and rose an eyebrow.

"Nah, I bought the cake" he chuckled and unpack my food. I happily ate and Jeff smiled warmly and he rest his palm on my head and I look at him.

"I'm glad you're ok" said Jeff and I nodded. I swallowed a mouthful spoon and smiled, this is delicious. "I better go and fix all my schedule, get well soon" he bowed down and kiss my forehead and walk out of the door. Nathaniel cleared his throat and my attention went to him and my eyes widen.

"Are you hungry too?" I asked and he cough and stared at me bewildered. "Come on don't be shy"

"Don't change the topic miss Rockwell" I sigh and finish my food and look straight at Todd. This man is pissing me.
