Dells pov

I threw my backpack to the side and grabbed a new book I had gotten recently and soon enough it was already 6:15 and the party started at 7.
Reluctantly I put down the book and starting digging through my closet for something to wear. I finally decided on an Hogwarts shirt and black jeans.
After my mom dropped me off I walked into Madison's house and barely anyone was inside. So I decided to walk outside where her pool is. When I stepped out the door, I walked into the real party! The music was way too loud, booming out of the speakers was a rap song that I've heard before but didn't like. It was one of those cliche songs that the words really have no meaning but somehow it's super popular, but only for like a month and then it disappears into the list of unpopular, out of date songs. There was people everywhere, trying to dance even though it was so crowded and tight."Hey"
I saw out of the corner of my eye, Ellington was here and he was watching me, as I turned to face Madison.
"Um.. Hi"I said wondering what she wanted.
"Aren't you that girl who had like a mental breakdown in 7th grade, they had to take you to a hospital and everything right?"
"Maybe...so..."
"What's your name anyways?"
"Im holt I've known you since pre-k"
"Holt wow that's odd"I rolled my eyes as Madison said this.
"So like what's your deal, didn't you like skip school for like a whole year"
"Yea.....wait why do you want to know"
"Just because, everyone's been talking about you and wondering what's wrong with you"
"Nothing's wrong with me"
"Then why did you skip school for a year if you didn't have a problem"
"Because of people like you"
"Why because your jealous of my perfection"I let out a laugh at this.
I didn't answer her.
"Huh you are just as weird as everyone says, no wonder no one pays attention to you, you didn't get what you wanted, did you?"
"Huh"
"Isn't that all you wanted, I bet you planned that whole breakdown act just for attention"
"I did not"
"Sure whatever bitch"
"That's bullshit"I yelled at her as she started to turn around but not before she pushed me into the pool. All I could hear was laugher as I hit the water. As I came up I saw Madison give me a bitchy look before she started walking away.
Everyone around the pool were looking directly at me. I started to look down because I felt the tears coming and when I looked back up, Ellington was standing above me with his hand outstretched.
"come on"
I smiled at him as I put my hand in his.
Ellington helped me out of the pool ,threw me a towel, and lead me to the door of his house ,which is right by Madison's.I noticed he was still holding my hand as he lead me up the Stairs to what I remembered was his room.
I hadn't been in Ellingtons room for ages now, all of his toy trucks and action figures were now replaced with sport trophies,but even so some things were the same. It was the same pale, sky blue color on all four walls and the same sweet smell from when we were kids.
"Make yourself at home"
I sat down on the same dark blue comforter on the same bed we used to hide under when my mom told me It was time to leave.
I was looking around at his pictures all over the place while he was digging through his messy closet.
Most of the pictures were of him and varies teams he's played on, from soccer to basketball.
"Here"Ellington said as I turned around. He was holding sweatpants and an overly big sweatshirt out to me.
"Bathrooms over there"he said pointing to a door just to the right of him.
"Thanks Ellington"
"I know we're not as close as we used to be but you don't have to call me Ellington"
"Fine thanks ell"
"Your welcome dells"
Wow,haven't heard that nickname in forever, ell was the only one who ever called me that.
After I stripped out of my soaking wet clothes and changed into Ells clothes, I went out of the bathroom, where ell was sitting on his bed.
"Did I ever tell you That I love your sweatshirts!"I said, grinning at him.
"I don't think you mention that before"
"Well I love them"
Ell started laughing.
I sat down on the bed next to him.
"U ok?"he asked me out of the blue.
"Yea"
"No your not okay,I can tell, remember when we were little and we were riding our bikes and you literally crashed into a tree, your leg was bleeding but you said you were fine but I knew you weren't,
"And you ran home and got help"
"Yea And turned out you broke your leg"
"I'm fine"I turned away.
He touched my cheek and made me face him."Delly"
I felt the tears coming and ell saw them too. He wrapped his arms around me and pulled me to him.
I only cried for like a minute but I liked how his arms felt around me so I didn't let go. When I finally let go and pulled away, he did the same.
"Hey I know things haven't Been easy for you lately and I'm sorry I haven't been there for you" he said sadly, without looking at me in the eye.
"It's fine forget it"I said standing up.
He grabbed my hand,"no I'm really sorry, if you ever need to talk"
"No I'm good, I'm used to being by myself now, i don't want your pity"I realized my voice was getting sorta louder.
"You can't possibly blame me for our friendship going under, you started blocking the whole world out,you blocked me out"ell grabbed my hand and made me look at him."after everything that happened to you,the bullying, the depression, and out of everyone you wouldn't let me in and that killed me"he let go of my hand.
I cut him off,"I can't do this right now"
"Bullshit you knew this was coming for 5 years,you had plenty of time to prepare an excuse"he was now sorta yelling, he grabbed my hand again as I was turning to leave. I tugged my arm away from him as he pulled me to him.
Somehow I fell over his bed and landed on the floor. As fast as it happened, ell was kneeling beside me.
"You okay?sorry"
He took both my hands in his and helped me up.
"I'm fine"
"I'm sorry I yelled at you"
"It's ok let's just forget it"
"At least let me walk you home"
"I only live four blocks away"
"So.... Come on I'm walking you home"
He grabbed my arm and lead me out the door and out the house.we walked pretty much in silence until we were about a block away from my house.
"Um.... I'd like to spend some time with you again sometime soon"
"Maybe, thanks for being there for me tonight"
"Your welcome dells"
We walked up to the door to my house, when I realized I was still wearing Ells comfy sweatshirt.
"Oh here"I started to pull the sweatshirt over my head.
"No you keep it, you look a lot better in it than I do"he said grinning.
"Thanks"
"No problem, see ya Monday"
"Yea goodnight"
