"Well that went...okay.. I guess" Lilith muttered to herself as she fixed her makeup in her cars rearview mirror. After her sob spell at the garage her mascara had ran down, smearing just beneath her eyes. Sitting in the parking lot of the local diner gathering her thoughts over what had just happened. Clay had seemed concerned about her, whether that was just the way he was a a man or he wanted to own up and be a father, she didn't know. When he had hugged her briefly he'd smelled of cigars and leather, an interesting yet soothing combination.
"But that lady seemed like a total bitch.. " She muttered as she got from her car now, locking it on instinct before heading into the diner. Her stomach had been a churning mess of nerves but now she was hungry, needing something in her empty stomach before she threw up.
"Booth, table or bar? " The middle aged waitress asked as she grabbed one laminated menu from the podium.
"Booth please. " She responded now, feeling slightly at ease. Knowing the food here was good and that no one would recognize her. It had been so long since she had set foot in this place, plus she looked incredibly different. As a child she was thin and didn't care what she wore. Now, average build, weighing a little over one fifty during holiday seasons. Wearing more trendy outfits.

"Thank you.." Nodding at the waitress as she took a seat, glancing over the menu, ordering herself a coca-cola then a BLT plate. The door bell dinging not phasing her, until a seeming familiar face sat down across from her.
"Can I help you? " She raised an eyebrow at the seeming irate woman, who's hazel eyes bore a hole into her soul.
"Yes you can actually..I'm clays wife.. " Gemma tapped her manicured finger nails atop the table.
"..I don't know who you think you are, but sweetheart... " She leaned in narrowing her eyes "...you don't just get to come into the picture like that. Just show up and expect Clay to welcome you with open arms..What is it you really want...Money?"
Her voice was like venom, making Lilith cringe now. Now it was her turn to narrow her eyes, her tone rising an octave.
"Listen you selfish bitch, I came here for answers.. Nothing more.. If I needed money I'd go to the damn bank. My mother is a damn druggie whore...I don't give a shit if he acts like a father to me or not.. I just want... " She paused taking a deep breath "..need.. Some answers for why my fiancee was murdered by some fucking bikers last month. " She had practically hissed now, the subject of Bryan was still too touchy for her.

Gemmas expression faltered, mostly because this girl had the balls to come back at her with that much attitude. But also because she knew that same pain. The pain of losing someone you loved with all your heart. Clearing her throat she dug her pack of cigarettes from her black purse.
"Smoke?" She offered with a soft voice now. The kind gesture talking Lilith back for a moment but she nodded, just as her food was brought over. Taking one from the pack as she lit it, knowing it would calm her nerves now as she simultaneously munched on a French fry.
"I lost my second son and husband in the same year.. " She murmurs lighting her own cigarette. "...My son had a heart condition... Hereditary..when he died.. My husband.. Went off the deep end so to say.. " She muttered, knowing it probably wouldn't faze this girl.
Lilith felt some pity but it didn't last long. "I had met Bryan when I first got to New Orleans... We became friends..he helped me out alot at first.. Then we fell in love.. " She uttered softly, a few happier memories coming back now. "..We had been together five years.. " She sighed, wondering if perhaps they'd be engaged by now.
Gemma raised an eyebrow as she exhaled "You won't be over it for a long time sweetheart... Trust me on that.. " Lilith had to bite her tongue, this was the last person she wanted to trust. "Got a place to stay? " She questions curiously.
"No, I'm just gonna get a hotel room. " She murmurs, taking a sip of her coke.
"You can come stay with us.. We got plenty of room." She smiled lightly, knowing Lilith would probably decline the offer.
"No thanks, I don't want to impose. " She uttered quickly in response. Taking a bite of her sandwich now.
"Well.. " Gemma shrugged putting out her cigarette in the ash tray before standing up. "If you change your mind come by the garage.. Enjoy your lunch " With a curt nod and fake smile plastered on her lips she left, her heels clacking along the linoleum flooring.
Lilith sighed as she slumped back some in the tattered booth.
"Yep, a total bitch. "
