She groaned once as she rolled over, feeling the muscular arms around her still, the dream making her believe it was Bryan and not her one night stand. He smelled good despite their alcohol filled night.
"Mhm.. " She murmurs softly burying her face in the pillow, the sun light making her hangover ten times worse. Silence came from the opposite side of the bed, expecting a smart ass remark from her lover, she turned her head some looking at him.
"Br--.. " She stopped, feeling nervously confused now as she saw it was Hale who slept beside her and not Bryan, shirtless at that.
"Shit.. " She muttered, hoping he wouldn't wake up as she tried to entangle herself from his arms. Anxiously looking around for her clothes now. Yanking her panties on then jeans, stopping one she caught Hale looking at her as she slid her blouse on.
"Uh.. "
"Morning... Leavin already?" He mutters rubbing at his eyes then forehead, sitting up some.
"Yeah... " She murmurs buttoning up her shirt, running a hand through her messy sex hair.
"It was fun ya know.. You're welcome to come back.. " He flashed a small smile at her, those dimples making her feel all goofy inside for a split second.
She was taken back by that, chewing on her bottom lip as his words sunk in. Wrapping her arms around herself she sat on the edge of the bed.
"I don't know if that's a good idea... " She murmurs softly, glancing down at the crumpled sheets.
"Why? Don't think Clay would approve? " At that he smirked now, folding his arms behind his head.
Rolling her eyes she let out a soft laugh.
"I know damn well he won't. But its my life...." She shrugged. "..But I'm still...not over someone who I lost.." Her voice cracked some, slightly ashamed at herself for drunkenly sleeping with another man so soon.
He just nodded slowly moving his gaze to the ceiling.
"I understand...take your time... I can keep a secret though.. Don't worry. "
Now it was her turn to smile lightly.
"Thanks.. " She nodded, grabbing her shoes as she left the room, remembering only when she was outside that her car was still at the bar. With a huff she started walking down the sidewalk towards town, thankful for the small town now. Cringing at the numerous missed calls from Gemma and Clay as she checked her phone. Nearly jumping out of her skin as she heard a horn honk beside her. Turning she frowned seeing Gemma behind the wheel of her sleek cadillac.
"Where the hell have you been? " Gemma uttered, getting out of the car now and moving over to her with a worried expression.
"I'm fine.. Im fine.. " She murmurs crossing her arms. "..I went out for some drinks.. With someone and ended up at his house.. " It wasn't totally a lie but not all the truth.
Gemma nodded with a small smirk.
"Alright.. Well we were worried sick.."
She couldn't tell if she was telling the truth or just kissing her ass right now but it didn't matter.
"Can you give me a ride? My cars at the bar still... "
Gemma nodded as she slid back into the drivers seat, she moving around to the passenger side. Feeling Gemmas eyes bore into her as she caught a glimpse of the love bites on her neck.
"Not saying anything else.. " She murmurs motioning for Gemma to drive already."I don't even know..." She murmurs to herself as she paced around the bathroom now. With the house to herself she decided to dig out the blue box and make sure for now. The five minutes taking far too long. As the negative sign popped up a sigh of relief escaped her. Having a child now wouldn't be good, especially when the father was dead. But now what would she do about Hale? He seemed like a decent guy, a southern gentleman in the wrong setting. Guess she took the term fuck the police literal now.
"Is Deputy Hale in?" She questioned the first person she saw inside the police station, looking and feeling much better after a long bath and dawning fresh clothes.
"Lilith? " Hale came from the office with his name on it, setting a file down on a desk. Motioning her to follow him as he went back into his office, she shutting the door behind herself.
"What's up? " He crossed his arms as he leaned back against his desk, she taking a seat now.
"I'm sorry about earlier.. I just.. " She paused then let out a soft laugh. "...I did have fun too... But its complicated with me... Bryan was the only guy I'd ever been with.. And...and now he's gone.. "
He frowned hearing her tone change at that, taking a seat beside her now.
"Don't be sorry, we were drunk....I'm surprised we even remember it.. " He chuckled at that before growing serious again. "...I'm not askin ya to move in or something like that.. Maybe just drinks every now and then. Get to know each other more. "
Her lips slowly curled up into a small smile at his offer now, nodding quickly in response to it.
"That sounds.. Really good.. Fun... " She smirked widely now, leaning in some. "...Ask my dad for permission?"
He rolled his eyes with a soft groan escaping him.
"You're crazy.." He mutters before moving behind his desk now. She just laughed, standing up as she opened the door, nearly running into Unser as she quickly left. Not wanting any questions to be raised as to why she was there.Clay sighed heavily as he sat at the dining table of their house, looking up somewhat angrily as she came in the kitchen door now.
"What's this I hear bout you screwing around with someone?" His tone was serious and firm. She froze as her eyes darted from Gemma to him.
"My sex life is none of your damned business.." She snapped back, slamming the door behind her now. The last thing she needed was this patronizing lecture from him.
"It's my damned business if you're screwing around with Hale." He stood up now from his seat, narrowing his eyes. Her face fell at that now, her heart stopping for a millisecond.
"How.. How did you.. " She murmurs in shock. He scoffed crossing his arms now, a smug look on Gemmas face now.
"Hale told Unser... Unser felt obligated to inform me.. " He shrugged like it wasn't a big deal to him.
She was taken back, stunned and at a loss for words. Shaking her head she grabbed the door handle now.
"I'm not gonna stay here and deal with this...with this bullshit.." She hisses at them, not appreciating the violation of personal business.
Gemma rolls her eyes but turned to her now, a manicured hand on her hip.
"Sweetheart, we just dont want you to end up like your mother.. "
"Don't you fucking dare compare me to her!" She snapped back, her voice cracking as it rose several octaves. That silenced them quickly, he seeming shocked by her outburst.
With a soft sigh of utter aggravation she stormed back outside, getting in her car and speeding off. Heading to the only other person who seemed to care.
