On her way to Hales house, she unintentionally drove by her mother's house, seeing as it was a quicker route. Cursing softly as she saw the woman's car at home. Whether it was guilt or the anger now, she pulled into the driveway. Stomping up to the door and knocking with a firm fist. Seconds ticked by slowly until the door opened. A soft gasp of astonishment escaping her as she looked at her mother, she looked so different. Long gone was the bleached streaks of hair, but her natural chestnut lockes were piled atop her head in a messy bun. Crows feet etched her eyes but that was a simple sign of age. A fair amount of makeup blotched her face, but she looked healthy.
"Holy shit..." They both muttered in unison as they stared the other down."I..I cant believe it.. " She murmurs wiping at her eyes with a tissue now, sitting at the dining table.
"Yeah, I'm five years clean... This mess is just from a party I had for a girlfriend who's leaving town. " Annette murmurs softly, tossing some more trash into a garbage bag. She was shocked, upon hearing about the grief her mother endured when she up and left, it broke her heart even more.
"I'm so sorry.. " She murmurs pulling her mother into a tight embrace now. Annette let out a soft laugh as tears streaked her cheeks.
"It's okay baby girl... I ain't mad at you.. "
"But..but.. I didn't give you a chance..." She murmurs softly, all the emotions of earlier fueling this reconciliation.
Annette sighed pulling back as she put her hands on her daughters cheeks gently. A small smile on her lips.
"You're so beautiful... Im sorry....for what you went through...everything..."
After she had informed her mother about her circumstances in being back in town, that's when the water works started.
She just nodded forcing a small smile as she put her hands over Annettes.
"We'll... We'll catch up some more later... I gotta go.. " She definitely needed to talk to Hale now.
Annette nodded with a faint smile.
"Alright, I'll be here. ""She missed me and feels guilty and she's been clean for five years and I dont know what to do! " She uttered in a flustered rush as she fell onto Hales couch with a grunt. He sighed perching himself on the coffee table now.
"Do ya want her back in your life?" He questions softly, knowing that was the main reason for her internal struggle now.
"I dunno.." She mumbled as her face was buried in the cushion.
"Well Lilith you're gonna have to figure it out yourself.." He shrugged putting a hand on her shoulder. "Give her a chance.. That's my opinion.."
She sat up slowly nodding some, pulling her legs up ans tucking them beneath her.
"She might approve of you...unlike Clay and Gemma.." She rolled her eyes now, looking down some.
Hale just chuckled lightly, moving to sit beside her now, putting his arm around her shoulders.
"Do I look like I care what they think?"
She looked at him with a small smile, seeing his own goofy smirk now.
"No you sure don't. " At that she leaned in, brushing her lips against his. Feeling at ease now with him, putting a hand on his chest as he seemed to get excited by the kiss. Mumbling against his lips.
"..Don't...I gotta handle.. Some stuff.." She pulled away from him slowly, giving him a small smile.
"Alright.. Alright... I'll see you later? " He raised an eyebrow as she stood up.
"Maybe..." She winked at him before leaving."I loved the thrills.." Annette admitted as she sipped on her coffee.
"...The motorcycles were badass and men knew how to party.. " Letting out a soft laugh now. "..Thinking back..I dont regret it.. Because it gave me you. " Smiling at her now.
She looked down at her own mug, smiling faintly, the hours had ticked by as the two had caught up. Just simple chatting, no harsh words or accusations. It felt so normal to her, something she hadn't felt in a long time.
"I'm glad we're... Well okay now.. Really.. " She looked at her mother now.
"Me too sweetheart..."
She then cleared her throat. "Well mom, I'm sort of seeing someone I think... We kinda got drunk together.. But he's very kind.. "
"Who?" Annette raised an eyebrow, but a small smile played at her lips.
"Deputy Hale... " She murmurs into her coffee mug.
Annette let out a soft laugh. "I never thought that boy would find himself a girl... He always seems so stuck up on rules.. "
"Yeah he's pretty stern.. " She let out a laugh now, remembering how he acted whilst in uniform.
"But he's good for you? " Annette raises an eyebrow, knowing she was still having struggles with the death of Bryan.
"Yeah he's..he's sweet. " She murmurs, flushing slightly in her cheeks now. In their few times together now he'd been a gentleman.
"Well good..." Annette nodded with a small smile. "You know you can come stay with me.. "
She was slightly taken back by her mother's offer, shrugging her shoulders now.
"Oh I.. I don't know yet.. " She murmurs somewhat truthfully, but also because of the distance still between them.
"Well just think on it.. " Annette muttered.
"Okay.. ""David.." She let out a soft laugh as he nibbled at her neck, wrapping her arms around his bare torso. His bed sheets crumpled around their sweaty bodies.
"Mhm.. " He mutters not lifting his head, his body pinning hers down.
"...you're supposed to be.. Helping me.. " She murmurs breathlessly, running a hand through his hair.
He let out a soft groan as he pulled back propping himself on his elbow beside her, with a small smile on his lips.
"Why don't you just go down the middle.. " He grabbed her hand now, intertwining their fingers.
"Why don't you just move in with me?"
His offer made her heart flutter anxiously now, stammering for a moment before blurting out the first words in her mind.
"Do you love me? " Her eyes locked with his, depending on his answer would determine her answer. Even though their relationship had been short so far, he seemed to take pride in her.
He chuckled lightly, titling his head to the side as he stared into her eyes.
"I love how you are a very head strong woman.. "
"Ugh.." She rolled her eyes now, cutting him off and siting up as she grabbed her shirt. Anger filled her eyes now, shoulders tensed up.
"What? " He frowns slightly seeing her body language change, sitting up himself.
"All you want is the sex huh? Maybe some club secrets? " She spat at him, yanking her clothes on. "I'm. Not. A. Whore."
"What?! " Hale exclaimed. "I never said that. Don't be putting words in my mouth. I know you aren't."
"You might as well have said it! " She stopped staring at him with watery eyes, feeling used now.
"Hey.. " He moved over, taking her hands in his. "Lilith, I've never meet a woman like you... I love you. I don't give a shit about the club.. I care about you. "
She was shocked by his words yet they seemed so sincere. Little did she know the differences between truth and lies now. Her lips curling up now as she threw herself back into his arms.
"I love you too.. "
