It was another fine beautiful day, the perfect kind of whether for jogging. Germany jogged on the small path around the pond. He breathed in and out with each step he took, keeping his back straights and eyes forward. Though every once in a while his eyes would wander over to your figure sitting on a bench reading a book. A small smile worked it's way onto his face, but quickly disappeared as his steps faltered a bit. Germany cursed regaining his balance and hoped you hadn't seen his small mistake and laughed at him. He looked over at you just in time to see you quickly look back down at your book and bit your bottom lip to keep from smiling. A dark blush worked it's way over his face, damn you did see, Germany blew out a quick breath before turning and jogging back towards his home. It didn't take long before he was inside taking a shower, hoping to wash away the embarrassment he had felt. After the shower Germany left to his studies where he took care of the normal work until he headed to bed at 10.
The next morning Germany was already up and out of the house jogging down the familiar black path. He kept even and steady breaths while doing so keeping focus on what was ahead rather than if you had arrived or not. It was about two or three hours later when he decided to take a break, with heavy breathing Germany sat down on the closest bench. His chest rose and fell while his eyes wandered the area looking for your familiar figure. Germany's brows knitted in confusion when he didn't see any sign of you. What had he expected? You were probably busy with other things, rather than come to the park everyday and read. He couldn't help but let out a sigh of disappointment, "What's wrong?" a sudden voice asked.
Germany's head looked over to his left, eyes slightly widening once he saw it was you! He had taken a seat right next to you on accident. It felt like the world had stopped and his heart would soon follow after. "You alright there?" you asked leaning forward a bit and placed a hand on his shoulder. This action was enough to get him to snap out of it "oh, uh, yea I'm fine thank you for the concern". If Germany could he would of smacked himself right then and there for the stupid response. However you smiled at his answer and nodded your head a bit "that's good to hear, wanna tell me what the sad sigh was for?" you question. Should he tell you? No that would make him seem like some sort of stalker. "Oh, well I just felt like I was forgetting something that's all" the words ran out of his mouth before he could catch them. You gave a small short laugh before saying "don't worry I do that sometimes as well, I'm Nicole" you stuck your hand out for him to shake. Germany gave a small soft smile before grasping your small hand in his large one "Ludwig, nice to meet you" he greeted giving your hand a small shake before releasing it. "Like wise Ludwig" you grinned setting your hand back onto your book.
From then on everything changed, Germany would come to the pond jog and when you arrived he would stop to talk with you. This happened for a good solid month, the both of you learning more and more about one another. Each day would bring a bigger smile on Germany's face if it were even possible. In the mornings he rushed as fast as he could out of the house to get in a good jog before talking with you. Of course the day came when Germany decided that he wanted to try the next step. You were right on time arriving at the park, Germany finished his last lap before making his way over to you. His breathing was a bit uneven but he smiled none the less "hey" he breathed "hello to you too" you replied with a smile. Germany took his normal spot next to you, taking a sip from his water bottle making sure not to drink to much. "How are you today?" he asked "I'm fine, what about yourself, you seem as if though your anxious". Was it that obvious? Well his leg was bounding wildly so that must have been a slight give away.
"Well actually, Nicole, I had a question" the sentence seemed to interest you as you leaned forward. "What is it?" the curiosity laced into your voice, he looked into your chocolate colored eyes. He loved how they slightly twinkled when the sun hit them just right, but this only made his heart beat faster. "W-well I was just wondering, we've grown to know one another over the month, and well I was wondering, would you like to go on a date". Germany shocked himself when he managed to say the rest of the words easily, though he was sure the nervousness could be hear. There was silence for a few seconds before you broke out into a wide grin "yes I'd love too" you replied. A wide grin broke out onto Germany's face as well, before he knew what he was doing his arms wrapped around you and picked you up spinning around. The laugh he loved filled the air as you wrapped your arms around his shoulder. "Thank you for the chance" he said softly after setting you onto your feet. "It's my pleasure" you said back. Germany placed his lips on your cheek, noticing the small blush that began to form on your cheeks. "I'll pick you up at 7?" "yea that'll be fine" Germant smiled and nodded "7 it is then" you nodded before returning the kiss. "See ya later handsome" you laughed a little before grabbing your book and walked off. It took him a bit to notice that his heart was beating like a drum, yet he was grinning like an idiot. "Eh? Germany what are you smiling at?" the familiar voice of Italy asked. He didn't turn to look at the Italian but stayed smiling "I have a date with a beautiful women, see you later Italy" Germany turned on his heel and headed off towards his house. He had everything planned out in his head, this would be the perfect night for sure
