"What? Why?!" I say in horror.

She looks at me, "Haven't you noticed something?" she grins. "I am daughter of Anubis, Kebechet!"

"Y..yo..you? Like daughter of Anubis as in like.. Like you give water to the dead Kebechet? like when you-" I couldn't think right.

"Yes, my father, wants me to find his cup," she starts explaining like it was normal. "Shu, has fought with my father, so he took Anubis's cup and scattered it around these mountains slash pyramids."

"What if we die trying to get it? Wouldn't that mean he will never get his cup back?"

"Oh please my dad is the god of death, so if we die, no worries." Linda replies.

The closet goes back down. Linda gets up and starts to drag me towards the 3rd mountain. It was silent, as we walked toward ms the mountain. I was too scared to talk. What if she just takes all the water out of me? I'd die right away. We move farther from the second mountain, getting closer to the third. The sun sets, it gets dark.

"I have a sandwich, wanna split it in half?" I finally broke the silence.

"Yes please, I'm really hungry."

I grab the sandwich out of my bag, Then I start splitting it, giving her half while i take the other half. We start eating it on the way to the mountain. SHREIK, a loud sound starts coming from the center of the "Magic Plain". I fall to the ground, and start to cover my ears hard. Linda starts covering her ears as well. Second after second, minute after minute. The sound isn't going away. I quickly grab and roll my shirt up into ball, starting to bite it. My head starts aching. The shriek gets louder and louder. I cover my ears harder. I turn to my left to face Linda, her nose was bleeding, her ears were bleeding. What? Am I next? Oh no! My nose starts to bleed. Oh no! This isn't happening! Shhh..... The sound quiets down.

I uncover my ears, looking at my bloody fingertips. Wait, what?!  My ears are bleeding. Oh shit. I can't think straight anymore. I wipe the blood out of my face with my arm, looking at the environment around me. The grass was gone, the mountains were gone. Instead, it was a dessert with nothing but ten pyramids.

A breeze of cold wind blows by me. I shiver. I look to my right, and there she was. "Linda," I call out in a whisper. "are you alright?" Her head was dug in between her arms. I reach my hand slowly towards her, pulling her arms off her ear, "It's okay, it's all gone now." Her face was covered in thick blood. I look to the mountain, then look at her, look at the mountains, look at her. I stand up and take Linda's body and swing it to my right shoulder. I had no choice but to nibble to the next mountain.

1 day later...

"At least we survived it till here" Linda says.

"It's not going to be long. I mean we've already ran out of food. It's been a whole day, I'm starving"

"Man up! We'll find food in no time"

"Are you saying that we will randomly find food in a plain that basically has mountain pyramid thingies?"

"Well, no, yea, but like you know." Linda sighs.

"Come on get up the mountain, we're going on adventure number 2. Or like adventure 3 for you."  We start walking up the stairs that lead to the entrance. It was similar to the first one except this door had a lot of hieroglyphics on it.

"It's sealed good" Linda places her hand on one side of the door and drags it to the other side. She stares at my hand. "Why is your locket shining?!"

I look down to my locket. I slowly take off my neck and open it. My mom's picture was gone. What. The. Fuck. Inside my locket, where my mom's picture was, the locket was carved into a shape of a handle. It was no dark carve. The carve shone brightly.

"What's weird is that not all of it is shining," Linda grabs my hand and takes a closer look at my birthmark. "its shining in the shape of a claw."
