8. Of Smiles and Smirks

"Have you gotten a hold of him ?" Temari asked.

"Yes, Sabaku-san. The police have arrested Yahiko-san in connection of domestic abuse and rape of Uzumaki Naruto-san. They have other sources telling Yahiko-san is also involved in drug dealing and an attempted murder. He will be getting an attorney tomorrow, Sabaku-san." A deep baritone voice answered from the phone. Temari hummed.

"Good work, Baki."

As Naruto and Sasuke conversed, they didn't hear the door creaking open until they heard startled gasps. Sasuke whipped his head in surprise but his face didn't show anything. Minato, along with Gaara and Kankuro came back  from the cafeteria. Minato smiled widely at his son, and laughed. 

"Naruto ! You're awake !" The older blond hugged gently his son and Naruto chuckled and nodded. Minato glanced towards his sleeping wife and smiled fondly, seeing Naruto's hand still on Kushina's red hair.

Gaara walked to the other side of the bed than Minato and Kushina. Sasuke had retreated to the window to give the family some space. He sipped the warm black coffee Kankuro had given him. 

The pale eyed redhead hugged Naruto while chanting 'thank kami you're okay.' in his mind. Minato leaned down to his sleeping wife and whispered to her ear.

"Look who's awake." With that, the redheaded woman bolted upright as fast as lightning, with a hazed and wondering look in her purple eyes and a hopeful smile on her lips. Once she realized just who was awake she literally screeched her son's name and leaped towards the younger blond. 

Naruto laughed at his mother, but it changed it to painful moaning when Kushina's unexpected weight rubbed against his injuries. Flustered, Kushina stood up and chanted apologies to her son with a big happy grin on her face and tears leaking drizzling down her pale cheeks.

Temari shut her phone and smirked. 'I'll definitely get his ass to jail and make sure he'll never touch Naruto again.'

She saw the same nurse that had checked up on Naruto, and politely stopped him. "Sunakawa-sensei, any word on Uzumaki Naruto ?" She required and the nurse smiled. 

"Of course, Sabaku-san. It seems your cousin woke up earlier than expected, I'll be coming to check up on his in fifteen minutes with Mashima-sensei." Temari thanked the nurse and made her way towards her cousin's hospital room, hearing laughing and other noises coming inside. 

She opened the door, and a huge grin appeared on her face.

Fifteen minutes later, Naruto had been checked up. Internal bleeding, which's operation was a success, would heal in time if taken easy. Bruises and scratches would heal fast and the sprained wrist wouldn't leave any further damage. Naruto could leave the ward in a week in observation.

Mental health would be another matter. Minato had already booked a meeting with a psychologist who specializes with domestic violence. Naruto wasn't too happy with him but reluctantly agreed.

A shout from the halls caught their attention. Kushina muttered something about stupid youngsters and opened the door. She glared at the group outside the room and ushered them inside. Now, on the small room, stood Naruto's friends. Kiba, who had been scratching his neck, grinned and bear hugged the blond.
