The music was deafening and the smell of beer and cigarettes nearly knocked me back out of  the building.

I held a hand up to my nose and quirked a brow in Blaise's direction, causing him to grin.

"Welcome to a party, Red." He pressed his hand to the small of my back as he guided me through the crowd of drunks. I clutched my book to my chest, my heart hammering from being this close to so many people. How did people find this fun?

Blaise shouted to a guy standing by the punch bowl who greeted him with a smile and a pat on the back. They exchanged a few words before the guy locked his caramel colored eyes on me," Hi there." He had a certain drawl to his accent that would have made a typical girl gush just to hear him say their name.

It didn't effect me and I offered him an awkward wave,"Hi."

"Scott, this is JoAnn. JoAnn, Scott. He is also on the swim team."

Oh, I could tell but I just nodded politely,"Pleasure to meet you." I held out a stiff hand.
He grinned and took my hand in his before grazing my knuckles with his lips,"The pleasure is all mine."

I laughed awkwardly as my cheeks got heated.

"Alright Scott. Geez, way to make a girl uncomfortable." Blaise ground out as he pulled Scott away from me. Scott raised a brow at him and the two eyed each other before Scott shook his head and threw up his hands, slowly walking away, running a hand through his light blonde hair as he did. I noted his nice ass as he walked off, not resurfacing from my stare until Blaise raised a hand in front of my face and waved it,"Earth to Red."

I blinked and looked back at Blaise, "Huh?"

Some emotion flashed across his face but was gone before I had time to analyze it, "How 'bout we go get a drink?"

I narrowed my eyes, "I don't drink."

That wasn't fully true but I most definitely did not drink in public. Alcohol was not something I had a high tolerance for.

Blaise stepped in front of me, taking hold of my shoulders, "Oh, come on Red. Just one measly drink." Once again, he flashed me that grin of his, causing me to sigh.

"Fine... But only one. No more."
...
Four beer cans and one hard apple cider later, I found myself crawling on the floor weaving drunkenly through the legs of unsuspecting party goers. The ground swayed, causing me to stumble and smash my forehead into some poor girl's calf, knocking her into the guy in front of her.

JoAnn Callahan: Drunk match-maker.

I giggled to myself before sprawling out under a table. My head landed on something soft and i laughed when I realized it was a foot. I followed the foot up to the owner's face and was met with caramel colored eyes, "Oh hi." I slurred out before sitting up and hitting my forehead on the table.

Scott laughed, "Have you lost something, JoAnn?"

I shivered at the sound of my name rolling off his tongue, "Oh that's nice. Hey!"

"Hey." Scott replied as he helped me climb out from under the table.

"Have you~" I poked his nose, "Seen my book?" I giggled and stumbled into him. He caught me, wrapping an arm around my waist before pulling me close.

"And if I say I have?" He looked down at me," What would you do?"

A giggled bubbled up in my chest and I struggled to keep it in, "Your eyes are reeeeeaaaallllyyy pretty." I drawled out causing the blonde to laugh and shake his head.
