Remember how I said that my school is filled with a bunch of humans? Yeah, I wasn't lying.

Luckily, no one here believes in supernatural beings or magic or anything like that. It's all a bunch of folktale to them, they believe that there's no such thing as witchcraft or anything like that.

I'm not so sure what to believe.. Just kidding, I know what I am and I know what I'm destined to do.

Okay, I sort of lied. I don't know what I'm destined to do. Like I said, I don't even know how to light a candle using my hand or whatever.

"Estelle, guess what I found in my dad's library.."

Vivian's dad is a librarian. And he owns the town's library. Vivian's dad is actually a fairy. Just like Vivian. She doesn't look like her dad very much, they just have the same eye color. Which is green, and her hair is brownish gold-ish and it's like amazingly curly. Like, it never looks tangled. Her dad on the other hand, is bald, and he's a lot taller than she is. Her mom is human and so is her brother, I'm not sure why Vivian is a fairy and why her brother is human.

"Hmm?"

Vivian opens her floral printed backpack, apparently, Vivian is a huge fan of nature. It sort of make sense since she's a fairy. A fairy without wings.

She pulled out a black book that has to have atleast 500 or more pages in it. The cover doesn't have like a title or anything, it's just black. It's not dusty, it looks a bit old.

"Well, what is it?"

She rolls her eyes and says, "It's a book of spells."

"Say that a little louder, will ya?" I grab the book and shove it in my backpack.

"Sorry, I forgot about you not wanting the whole school knowing your a WITCH!" she starts raising her voice.

"Okay okay, did you understand anything? Is it even in English?"

"I tried to Google Translate some things but it didn't make any sense to me whatsoever." she shrugs and pats my backpack, "See you after school."

Since I hate going to my last period early, I usually go to the bathroom for like 10 minutes and just use my phone. That's what I'm doing right now.

*New Message*

Serenity: New kid in Ms. Crocker's class, did you guys meet him yet?

Vivian: On my way to class.

Me: I'll be there in 5 minutes.

Serenity: Okay.

Ms. Crocker is our English teacher. That's the only class we all have together. Ms. Crockers lives alone in a house close by Serenity's street. Serenity told us that she saw her talking to herself while walking to the market alone. Ms. Crocker has to be somewhere around 50 or 60 years old, I don't have anything against her. I have an A in that class so.

The classroom felt empty, there had to be atleast 5 people absent. I skim around the room to find that new student that Serenity was talking about.

He was sitting on the same table as Serenity and Vivian. Serenity, obviously is the most social one in the group. She likes to talk to people, she can really talk all day.

"Hey guys.. Who is this?" I point at the new kid.

Serenity speaks up, "Oh! This is Lazarus. He's new here and he came from Texas. Right, Lazarus?"

He clears his throat a little, it's obvious he's annoyed of her, "Yes, hi."

25 minutes passed and none of us have been talking expect for Serenity. She's been talking about how hard it is to dye her hair since she's a natural blonde and how long it took her to go brunette over the summer.

"Wow Serenity, that sounds so interesting. Thanks for sharing. Can you shut up now?" Vivian grumbles.

"Okay, damn. You could've atleast been a little nicer about it."

"I'm sorry but all you do is talk, talk, talk, and talk!"

"I do n-" Serenity slams her hands on the table and silences the whole class.

"Ms. Petrakis, out of my classroom."

All of us just stared at Ms. Crockers, even the new kid. Serenity is Ms. Crocker's favorite student, she aces every test that Ms. Crocker gives her. This doesn't seem real, even Serenity is shocked.

"Wait.. what? Me?"

"Indeed, you. Now please go before I call Mr. Buelo to escort you to the office."

"You're kidding, right?" she scoffs,

"Serenity, chill out. It's not that big of a deal." Vivian whispers.

"I didn't do anything wrong though!"

A few minutes later, Serenity finally gives up and goes to the office without Mr. Buelo's assistance. Mr. Buelo is our school's principal, who hates kids. I swear, nothing good ever comes out of his mouth.

"So, Lazarus. Why'd you move to Vermont?" Vivian turns her chair towards Lazarus,

"It wasn't really my idea, my mom just wanted us to start a new life here with just the three of us."

"Three?"

"Yes. Me, my mom, and my little sister."

Vivian nods her head, "That's cute. How old are you?"

"17."

I turn my head a little towards him while writing down the things Ms. Crocker is writing on the board, "So you're a senior?"

He nods, "I've been moving around a lot since sophomore year, it's been hard trying to keep up with all of my classes."

"Understanding." Vivian shrugs.

The new kid was a lot more boring than I thought he would be, he's human obviously. Something is actually pretty strange about him. I just don't know what.

Anyways, Serenity ended up getting detention after school. I doubt Vivian would want to help me learn spells or even.. learn how to read Latin since she's a fairy and she 'believes in only light and good magic'.

Looks like I'm going rogue for once.
