"Any news about your mom?"
I shake my head and sit down in the waiting room, "No, not yet."
"Estelle, it's almost 1 in the morning.. You should really head home and get some rest." Serenity pats my shoulder,
"You're right.. I'll go ahead and do that." I start walking out the door and pause, "I kind of have to sleepover someone's house?"
Vivian looks at me with a confused look and then realizes that my grandmother is probably still laying unconscious on my living room couch, "We should have a sleepover then! You, me, and Serenity!"
I nod, "Okay. That sounds fine to me."
We look over at Lazarus and Serenity speaks up for the three of us, "Do you want to come with?"
He looks up at us, "Me? With 3 humans. Alone. Yeah, I'll pass. No offense guys but I kind of don't feel like killing more friends."
"Excuse me?" I raise my voice unintentially.
"I'll explain in the car, you guys are my ride anyways."
As soon as we all got in the car, Vivian clears her throat and says, "Well? Aren't you going to explain?"
Lazarus lays back onto his seat, "Let's start from the basics. I'm a 189 year old vampire, I drink human blood till this day, and I've graduated high school atleast 17 times."
"Hold on, how is that even possible if you've had the same name, last name, and possibly address. Wouldn't they suspect something?" Serenity scoffs.
"Seriously? That's what you're most curious about. You're completely ignoring the fact that I'm an 189 year old blood sucking monster and you're focusing on the part that I've graduated high school atleast 17 times?"
"..Pretty much."
"I have changed my name a bunch of times. I've moved to Italy, London, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, China, and maybe atleast to 10 states in the USA."
"What's your real name?"
"Lazarus, Lazarus Gounaris."
"What were your names in the past? Has your name ever been Bob or anything like that?"
"No, but my name has been Fabio for about 5 years or so."
"What about your other names? C'mon, we won't tell another soul." Vivian exclaims,
Lazarus laughs, "Lazarus, Fabio, André, Harold, Justin, Michael, Joseph, Gabriel, Daniel, Ronaldo, and I think for a few years my name has also been Norman."
Vivian and Serenity both look at him in shock, "It's incredible how you still remember all of those names."
"Yeah well, it's not easy to forget since they were basically all different lives and I was involved with many different people."
I finally decided to join their conversation and say, "So, how'd you meet Julianna?"
He sat in silence for a few seconds, "I met her around the 60's. We're what you call.. 'frenemies'. There are days when she's my sworn enemy, but there are days when she is my most trusted friend."
"And is she your sworn enemy today?"
"I suppose so, but trust me, what she did today is unforgivable. It's okay if you never forgive her."
"Wasn't planning on it."
It was silent during the rest of the drive to Lazarus's house, "This is your house?"
It was a mansion, the walls were a clean white, the roof's were a dark brown, the front porch was very fancy looking.
"Yep, this is my house! Thanks for the lift, you three. Hopefully you'll still want to be my friends after today." he smiles then closes the car door and walks inside his house.
"He doesn't seem so bad after all." Serenity shrugged,
I continued driving and was forced to listen to Serenity's screaming and yelling about how her game was 'rigged' and how she wasted perfectly good money on an app.
Vivian talks over Serenity's yelling, "Do you think we'll ever talk to Lazarus again after tonight?"
I laugh, "Of course we will. We're going to need a one hundred year old vampire to back us up when the war finally starts."
"War? What war are you talking about?"
"The war that has to do with witches, and perhaps, Julianna Miron."
