The cracking of a skull is not easy to become desensitized to. First you hear the sound of the crushing, then the blood comes spurting or pouring out. But that's not the worst part. The worst part would have to be the putrid smell of rotten flesh seeping out of the body. Elliot faced the facts awhile ago. He'd just learn to cope with it and move on. That's all you could do these days...
Standing alone in the desolate city he couldn't help but wonder why things were the way they were. Everything was perfect until the broadcasts warning the city to evacuate were sent to every television in New York. Instant screaming began and chaos took reign. Everyone lost all morals and did whatever they could. Woman and children were being raped, stores being looted ,people being murdered in cold blood. Then there was even people who tried to help but ended up being killed for trying to do good. It's as if we just lost our humanity the second the emergency broadcast was finished. That was just the beginning. After the chaos died down and everyone had left or been left behind, the monsters came. We just call them zombies now. After they had come corpses started gaining life but lost their consciousness and their appearance. Their flesh fell off, their bones were brittle and yet they still had the strength to hold you down...or bite through your flesh. They didn't necessarily eat people ,they just 'infected' them and left.Within a few hours the entire city was full of them and spread even further through the country and within a few weeks we lost control. These days we just try to to do our best and... survive.
