Chapter 2:
*Percy's POV*
Okay, so I was really nervous. This was my first real relationship, and I had no idea how to act around Girlfriend Annabeth. I mean, sure, Friend Annabeth is easy. But Girlfriend Annabeth seemed like an entirely different person.
So I was talking with some of the guys from the other cabins, and they suggested that I ask her out on a date.
So I decided to do that as soon as possible, meaning tonight. That's why I asked her to meet with me after dinner.
I was sitting in dinner, trying to remember how I was going to ask, when she came over with a smile.
I stiffened, blushing. I was hyper aware of the eyes trained on us.
"So... I'm done with my food... You wanted to talk? Or something?" She bit her lip cutely.
"Oh, right," I got up quickly, nearly tripping over the table, causing her to laugh.
We walked towards the beach, chatting along the way.
"So, um..." She trailed off.
"Right! So, we're dating... I was wondering if maybe you'd... I mean, if you want... we could..." I stumbled awkwardly. "Do you want to go on a date with me?"
She instantly beamed at me. "Oh course!" She pecked me quickly on the lips. "That'd be great."
"Okay. Do you want to meet here for lunch? We could have a picnic, maybe swim..." I offered, ten times less nervous. She nodded.
So that was set. All that was left was to get through the date.
