"Mr. Stilinski!" a woman shouted. "Mr. Stilinski! Wait!"

John Stilinski rushed outside the hospital, not even bothering to look back at the crying boy he just left behind.

"John! Wai-" the woman tried again, but he was already gone. She tried to held back her tears as she went to sit beside the boy.

"W-was it... really my fault?" the boy choked.

She pulled the boy into a warm embrace as she shake her head. She seemed to have lost the fight as her tears are now streaming down her face. The boy cried with her. It was heart breaking. She had never felt anything like this.

"I-I... I k-killed... my mom..." the boy choked between sobs.

She rocked the boy, gently. "No. It's not your fault, sweetie. It's not your fault." she said. The boy just cried harder as she held him tighter. "Stiles... It's not your fault."

"Mom?" A little boy's voice called.

She turned to where the voice came from and saw a curly-haired boy. "Scott? What are you doing here?"

"Aunt Ginny took me here." Scott replied. "Mom, who is that? Why is he crying?"

She sighed before answering her son. "This is Stiles. He'll be living with us for a while."

"Really?" Scott asked, excitedly.

The boy pulled away from the hug to look at the other boy. Scott ran up to him, taking his hand. "Whatever it is that made you sad, I'm sorry." he said, pulling him into a hug.

"M-my... mom died." Stiles said.

Scott held him tighter. "It's okay... My mom can be your new mom. We can be brothers!" he said, happily. It wasn't much, but it did brought a little smile on the other boy as he relaxed in the hug.

6 Years Later...

"Mom! Mom! We got out letters! We got our letters!!" the two boys cheered.

"Now, now. Guess we'll be heading to Diagon Alley tomorrow, huh?" Melissa said.

It's been 6 years since that night. But it wasn't just Claudia Stilinski who died that night. John Stilinski was caught in an accident that took his life, shortly after he had left. Stiles became mute for two years after those events. He didn't talk, or interact with anyone. He barely even eat, and sometimes have panic attacks. It was a miracle for everyone when he pulled through. They didn't know how, but he did it. Melissa couldn't be any happier for him.

Since Stiles pulled through, he and Scott have become inseparable. They would always do things together. They'd run around the house, play-hexing each other. Melissa would've been annoyed if it doesn't make Stiles happy. All she wanted was Stiles to be able to smile again, and Scott seems to know how to make him.

"Will I be getting an owl, mom?" Scott asked with that puppy face that no one can reject.

She smiled before saying, "both of you are." Making the two boys cheered.

Since Stiles was a pureblood, his father's wealth are passed into him. The ministry of magic gave Melissa the access to the Stilinski's wealth to use for Stiles education in the wizarding world. They've already expected Stiles to attend Hogwarts, since that is where his parents had graduated.

Melissa tried to hide this information from Stiles until he's come of age to attend to Hogwarts, but it's hard to keep secrets from the boy. Since his father was once a Head Auror, Stiles inherited his father's observation and investigating skills. Melissa was shocked when the boy suddenly said: "you can use the money for Scott, too." She tried to decline Stiles' offer, but the boy insisted, making her accept in defeat.
