Roxy was asleep, strewn across the couch, when I got home last night. I had snuck into my room and woken up early to avoid her. I ran to the student meeting area for the prank wars where the principal of our devision gives his long boring speech. There were only a few students in the room talking or walking around the big room. I looked around and saw Lilly. That wasn't really a surprise considering she wakes up at five in the morning and has an hour by hour schedule in her bag. I waved and walked over to where she was already sitting. Hi Lilly. I smiled. Oh hi Aki. You're up early. I nodded. Yeah I couldn't sleep last night. I half lied. Lilly nodded. Well I'm going to finish two hundred pages of my book before the prank wars. Ok bye Lilly. I got up and walked twords the back as Lilly got out her book. As I sat down in the last row I turned around at the sound of the door. Luna came in in a crowd of people and I waved her over. Hey Luna! I called to her. Luna smiled and pushed through people to get to me. So what exactly is all this? Luna asked looking around the huge meeting room. It's where all students meet for big assemblies and events and the principal gives a speech that I usually fall asleep during. I explained rolling my eyes. Oh. Luna replied.
As the principal reached the stage I smiled mischeviously at Luna and leaned over to whisper to her. Luna wanna ditch? I asked. Luna grinned wolfishly at me. And miss this wonderful speech! Luna fake gasped and said sarcastically. We both laughed quietly. Come on! I stood, grabbed Luna's arm, and snuck out the back door. We wandered the silent hallways with only the sound of our feet's gentle tap on the floor. Then suddenly I heard voices. Without checking to see if Luna had followed me I swung into the nearest room and put my ear to the door. I think we're safe Lun... a. I turned around not to see Luna but an angry piercing blue eyed man who I recognized as the vice principal. Um Luna? I didn't see her and so I stood awquardly alone with the harsh glare of the man. Psst. Ski I'm right here. I jumped at Luna's voice but still didn't see her. The man sighed. Come out Luna. Luna materialized out of no where and I jumped again. You were... I saw.. How did you. I tried asking her questions that came out unfinished. Then the man smiled and shook his head. You girls better get to the buses before they leave. He winked at us opening the door. Ok. I inched tword the door. Where will you be sir? Luna asked. I'll be watching from here. Duh. I don't want to die today. He said before shutting the door in our faces. Luna and I shared a glance. Well. Let's go. Luna now grabbed my arm and dragged me to the buses where we boarded and got ready for the prank wars.
Our gym teacher stood in front of the entire school and looked at us with judging eyes. Ok for anyone who is new there are only three rules. One. She listed them off. You must sign the contract saying we are not held responsible for any accidents that occur during the war or you may not compete. Two. No supplies you didn't find in the park may be used and you are banned from using powers. Many students grumbled and dropped questionable objects in a pile. Last. No killing. Someone has been killed? I freaked out. Suddenly I shivered as I felt killer intent and looked to my left. Luna stood beside me covered in a passionate flames and sparks in her eyes. People backed away from her and I worried for my safety. Then our teacher spoke once more. Various equipment can be found hidden in the park and there will be hideouts to escape into. Traps will be set up. If you are pranked you will be eternally shamed. Let's have a win this year. She fist pumped the air causing some us to be blown back a few feet. Good luck. Then she sped off and left us to fend for ourselves. I smiled. Hey luna. I turned to see her already heading in. Hey wait! I called running after her.
