Speak With Confidence;
Chapter Four.

: "Oh my god I think I might have made a muh-stake"

To say that my confidence faded after the encounter was an understatement. Once my door was slammed shut it was shot open not even a few minutes later.

"I wouldn't have done that if I were you." My father said, frighteningly low. I cowered back, eyes widening and regretting everything I've done.

"I'm s-s-sor-ry. I-I-I d-di-dnt me-mean i-i-it." I apologized pathetically just to save my ass.

"Your not getting away with it that easily."

I can't remember what happened from that point on. All I know is that I woke up with more bruises and cuts, body sore and dirty.

......... .........

I haven't gone to any of my appointments. I won't be going back until I'm fully recovered. We hadn't said anything to Harry about not being able to go. We'll clear that up when the time comes.

I haven't spoken to my father since it happened. All I know is that I'm still on for the speech in a couple of weeks.

......... .........

It was now dinner and oddly enough, we were all there. There will usually be someone missing but today there wasn't.

"What have you been up to son" Father asked Greg, while cutting his steak in bite pieces.

"I've been here and there." Greg responded.

"Oh! So you haven't been fooling around with that one married girl from down the road?" Father asked, mock surprised.

"Nope." My brother said, playing with his food, looking bored.

"Are you sure" My father pushed.

"Yup"

"Don't lie to me dammit!" He said, finally breaking, slamming his hand on the table making me and mother flinch. My mother and I kept quite though, for it wasn't our place to talk.

"What do you want from me!" Greg yelled back.

"I want you to stop lying to me and to forget about her!" Father yells back, his voice echoing through the quiet room.

"You want the truth? Fine. I proposed to her. We're getting married and she divorcing her husband. Fucking there's your truth!" Greg states, coming clean.

"You will end this nonsense! No son of mine will commit such a crime like this! The media will eat this up and we'll go bankrupt for you stupid decisions!" He booms, face red with anger.

"No dad. I love her and I will marry her. You have no say in my life and decisions." With that he walk out. Thinking about it now, our family does that quite a lot, walk out I mean.

"I can't believe this. You couldn't have had a respectful or normal son could you. You're just as pathetic as they are. Of course they had to get it from somewhere." Father said to my mum before he went to his office.

"I'm sorry mummy." I said sincerely.

"There's no need honey. Go to bed, it's late and your still healing." She sighed. She got up and then helped me to my room where she tucked me in and kissed my head before walking out of my room.

At least this wasn't about me this time, was the last thing I thought before sleep took over.
