Love In Serenity

Chapter 1 (Kaylee)

Jeepers. A lot has happened the past couple of weeks. We found out about the Reivers, and how the Alliance were the ones that made them go crazy. Wash, the Shepard, and Mr Universe all died protecting us. It took us a while to repair Serenity, and I don't know how much longer she will last. But some good has come from this. Simon and I finally got together. Hah, that was fun. Inara and the Captain? Well that hasnt officially happened but most of us have bets that it will happen soon. I mean Inara is staying on the ship! Who knows what will happen next.

Its quiet for once, and Simon and I are on the couch watching some random movie we found. I want it to stay like this forever, but I know it never will be. Because of the video we sent out we will forever be hunted by the Alliance. But I know that as long as I am with this crew, I know I'll be just fine. River comes into the room and once she see's us on the couch she just slowly backs out.

Ever since being on Miranda she's been different. Not exactly normal, but better. Simon thinks that she was "programmed" to make someone take her to Miranda and find out the secret. Once she found out the secret, she turned "normal". She still has her moments, but they are becoming less and less.

She closes the door, but then I see her peeping through the glass window. I laugh. Then I smile and look up at Simon. "Should we invite her in?" I ask and point to the window, and see River duck. "I guess we should, but I can't do this with her in here.." he says as he kisses me. I laugh and motion to River to invite her in.

The three of us have become a kind of "family ", and I love it. Except when River interrupts us in "our" time. But still.

Then I hear the captain over the intercom. "Kaylee get down to the engine room! Somethings wrong!" Of course he had to interrupt my little bit of peace.
