The Proposal

Puzzled

I stood completely speechless as my mother stormed in. Luckily Gomez took the role of the protector. He and my mother went at it as they yelled facing one another... Then the man with my mother whispered to me!
"Hello..." He said with a creepy smile.
"Uh... hi" I said uncomfortably. Something about him scared me... And not in a good way!
"I'm Max..."
"Wow..." I finished unamused. Nothing more was said, my job was done. Finally my mother and Gomez stopped their cat fight and looked up at me. My mother started to cry.
"Is this really what you want Morticia?" She asked.
     "Yes..."
     No more was said and my mother
Took Max by the hand and slammed the door. I looked at Gomez in puzzlement... But I got a smile back.
     "So... We have a wedding to plan!" He said excitedly as he cleared the table . Then I got pretty excited... Recovering from the shock of the last events was hard! Gomez swept me off my feet and we kissed for the longest time.
     Planning was easy for our wedding black and nothing more! Gomez said his mama wanted to whip up something special as our cake and I immediately agreed. How I love Gomez's mama!
     For the rest of the day we were free to do what we wanted but we had no idea what to do...
     I sat on Gomez's couch, Gomez followed me.
     "Gomez..." I spoke kind of softly.
      "Darling?" Gomez responded completely engaging with his eyes.
     "I'm scared..." Gomez took my hands and held them tight.
     "Of what darling?"
      "Max..."
      "Who?"
     "I'm not sure... But I feel I know him from somewhere?"
